Parks, preserves, and wild lands are important to our communities, and should be reflected on the survey next year. Bring back the Top Trail category! Glen Helen Nature Preserve is awesome

This is the most pitiful list of chain restaurants I’ve ever seen. Most of these places have absolutely no connection to Dayton or local tastes at all. Isn’t it time the DDN does a “Best of Guide” without the input of inexperienced diners? Please publish something that will push people out of their comfort zones and possibly create a little dining magic in Dayton. Stop aiding in the homogenization of this great city. Thoroughly disappointed once again.

I liked your “Best of Dayton” awards, but in this age when folks need to get outside, exercise, and enjoy nature awards for Best Park, preserves, or wild lands to your survey next year. There are lots around here with people using them!

Where was the “Top Trail” category this year? Parks, preserves, and wild lands are too important to our area to be forgotten.

The Best of “DAYTON” should only be businesses and services offered by “DAYTON” area companies.
No NATIONAL chains!

Next time DDN does one of these things, exclude national chains. J Alexanders best restaurant?! Oh my GOSH!! Get a life Dayton! Next thing you know Fuddruckers will win for best hamburger, oh wait, they did. No taste!

Marions for Best Pizza??!! They use FROZEN, not fresh vegi toppings!!! Might as well buy a pizza in the frozen food section of your local grocery! Typical Daytonians!

Right you are Steve. Did the editor offer you a Hickory Farms gift certificate for your endorsement of the `Best of Dayton’ survey—or did he threaten to fire you?

I’m pleased with the results. DDN readers were given plenty of opportunity and plenty of time to vote. Listing the top 3 was the right and professional thing to do. Critics are usually the ones who didn’t vote or get involved — they only speak up after the work and time have been put into getting the results.

It doesn’t exactly speak highly of the residents of the Dayton area that so many restaurant chains made the “best of” list.

It is a travesty of justice that the Oakwood Club is not on this list for Best Steakhouse if not the best Restaurant. Also I would argue that the Pine Club serves the best Burger in town. Fudruckers? You have got to be kidding me

I recently moved to the Dayton area and was hoping the list “Of Best” would give me some cultural insight to the area. Guess I’ll have get discover my best places on my own. Best breakfast “Bob Evans” common on people broaden your horizons.

Most of these `best of’ businesses are national chains and are no more Dayton than the Great Wall of China. without the title of this poll, I’d have thouoght this was Salt Lake City.

Give us the top ten in each category, not top three. I can’t believe that Tanks missed on best burger.

I think it’s pretty apparent that the people who voted on these things don’t get out of Dayton often…
