Restaurants unveil new wine events
This wine tastings and events list — which comes to Uncorked via the Dayton-based wine listserv that compiles it as a community service — is simply staggering.
Read over this list of wines scheduled to be poured at Dayton-area wine shops, grocers and restaurants (ESPECIALLY restaurants) in the coming days. Then, imagine a restaurant that would have a wine list that includes all of these wines. What, I wonder, would that restaurant be like? Just wondering.
Restaurants are doing all kinds of new, creative, and tempting things with wine. Carver’s is launching a Wednesday night tasting on its patio and lounge. Jay’s has started a Thursday night wine-and-food event. Mr. Lee’s will host its wine-and-food monthly event Monday, and Savona on Wednesday. The Winds has a winemaker dinner Tuesday with Anne Amie Vineyards, whose representatives also will pour at both Arrow Wine stores on Saturday. Heck, the Taste of Wine in Miamisburg will pair wines with The Hamburger Wagon next week. Did I mention creative? Oh, and don’t forget the Dayton WineFest tonight and tomorrow at the Boonshoft.
