New look for the library - what do you think?
I wrote a story about last night’s presentation of interior/exterior finishes for the new West Chester Twp. library. The story (read it online here) included a computer rendering of the building, but here are a few more photos of the proposed materials/colors for the interior. The colors didn’t come out totally accurate with my camera, but they should give you a general idea of what’s being considered for the library.
The first photo shows two carpet samples. The one with wavy lines would go closer to the library’s pavilion, echoing the curving wall.
The next two photos show swatches of samples for interior wall finishes, with the adult section on the bottom board, and youth/young adult on the top board. The bolder colors would be on acoustic tiles, while the walls would feature the more subtle tones. So here are the pictures; it’s your library, so what do you think?

It’s not only a beautiful and practical building, its being built without a TAX levy on property owners of West Chester. That’s a good thing!
