New Troy farmers market seeks growers
TROY — A new farmers market is coming to Troy and is recruiting growers to join the venture.
The market will be open from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays starting June 11 through Sept. 24 on a closed street in downtown Troy, according to a news release from the non-profit Troy Main Street Inc.
Food growers who commit by May 1 to selling at the market can do so for free. Those who sign up after May 1 may pay for the entire season or for certain dates during the season, Troy Main Street officials said. Projected costs to operate a booth are contingent upon the level of participation and range from just over $6 a day to $15 for a single-day appearance at the market.
