Downtown Dayton restaurant closes for now, plans to reopen

Michael’s Dining and Jazz, which opened last spring at 40 N. Main St. in the Kettering Tower and expanded its hours to include dinner service just two months ago, has closed temporarily, its co-owner, Michael Perry, said this afternoon, April 21.

“We’re looking for ways to restructure,” Perry said. “We have plans to reopen in the future.”

Perry said the restaurant will “definitely be open” for Mother’s Day brunch from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 9. But whether the restaurant reopens for regular business before May 9 is uncertain, he said.

Michael’s served lunch and dinner on weekdays and served a Sunday brunch.

The restaurant is located in the former Chantille’s Restaurant, which closed in February 2008. The space once housed the King Cole restaurant, and later, Olivia’s restaurant.
