New BBQ restaurant to open Monday in Beavercreek
The Woody’s BBQ that we told you about in November is poised to open Monday at 3321 Dayton-Xenia Road just west of North Fairfield Road in Beavercreek, owner Michael York said today, Feb. 11.
The 3,000-square-foot restaurant will seat 85 people and will employ 25 to 30 people, York said. A patio that seats an additional 20 to 25 people will open when the weather permits, the restaurant owner said.
York said the building has undergone extensive renovation, including new windows, bathrooms and plumbing, and has a newly paved parking lot.
The full-service restaurant is part of a Jacksonville, Florida-based chain that operates 31 restaurants, 28 of them in Florida. The Woody’s BBQ menu includes Baby Back Ribs, Spare Ribs, Barbecue Chicken, Hot Wings, Cole Slaw and Banana Pudding.
Hours will be 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. seven days a week. The restaurant’s phone number is (937) 426-7447.

I moved to Ohio from central Florida 5 years ago and Woody’s BBQ is one of the very few things I truly have missed about Florida. If you like southern style BBQ. Woody’s is the BEST, ever. I am so excited. Hope y’all enjoy it as much as I do!

I’m always looking for a new rib joint to try out. I also can’t believe anybody would say The Old Hickory has the best ribs. The only time I ever had them they were burnt, tough and all dried out. I swore I’d never go back. That was almost 40 years ago and I’ve never been back! I don’t make the same mistake twice.

The best ribs joints would be Huffys and Shields and these are found on the west side of dayton.

Nearly every Q place parboils their ribs. This makes then tender but takes away all of the troe flavor. The best ribs are at Old Hickory on Main St.

For good ribs try Bullwinkles in Miamisburg or the new one just off I75 at the Middletown exit.

Trydriving to Colerain Ave off 275, to Walts BBQ. Talk about great RIBS. Or try Walts in Hamilton on Mian st . Goodies on Hamilton Ave in Northside Cincy. Lots of better Ribs places in Cincy the Gary’s old place. BTW He went Ch 11 soon after Gary sold his interest in the place. Only thing he left them was the name. Datyon still has no really good BBQ places. Iknow I have tried them all. OR if you ever make it to OceanSprings Mississippi, try THE SHED> As seen on Diner-Dives and DriveIn’s.

Woody’s is good, but it can’t tough Sonny’s! And the location they chose is cursed. Restaurants come and go like crazy in that spot. Ill try it, but I also have a hard time seeing this place compete with City BBQ.

We’re currently in FL, a Woody’s near by. MMmmmmm…Dave’s right - OinkADoddleMoo has great BBQ too and you can’t beat JD’s custard in the summer!

I can’t wait to give Woody’s a try. The other BBQ joints around here just aren’t that good. The Montgomery Inn is the best, but too far to drive in this weather. Good luck to Woody’s.

Good luck, Woody’s. I’ll be trying you soon. No one drives down to Burbank’s anymore, Josh. Tney are closed for good. Probablly because of the reason you mentioned. I have good memories of the Burbank’s on Colonel Glenn in Beavercreek. The one in Cincinnati was pretty good, but not as good as Jim dandy’s down the road in recent years.

Ever since Gary Burbank sold Burbank’s BBQ the service and quality went way down. I used to drive to Cincy just to eat there but not any more.

Woo hoo! I’m glad this restaurant finally gets to open in spite of the red tape the owners had to crawl through. I’m looking VERY forward to trying it out.

It’s right off of North Fairfield Road, close to corner on Dayton-Xenia Road. Take 675 to N. Fairfield, drive south past mall, past City BBQ, and before you get to U.S. 35 is Dayton-Xenia, then turn right.
