Word is Fulton Elementary has regained power and could be back in session tomorrow.
I just talked to Kim Fish, communications consultant for the district. Fish told me that officials are inspecting Fulton right now to make sure that power is fully restored to all areas of the building and, if it is, students will likely be back in session tomorrow.
Fulton is the last of Springfield’s schools to regain power. If it does re-open tomorrow, only Urbana Local Intermediate remains closed. My colleague, Matt Sanctis, who covers Champaign County, is trying to get in touch with Urbana officials to see what the situation is there.
I’ll update when I know more.
