Charter schools calls emergency meeting
The governing board of Springfield Academy of Excellence will meet at 6 p.m. today, Sept. 3, in the Fellowship Hall at the Church of Jesus Family Worship Center, 623 S. Center St., for an emergency meeting, according to an email sent Tuesday.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss a News-Sun article about the school, said Mary Daniel of Springfield Academy. The board will also discuss how the article might affect the school, she said.
The article is this one about report cards for the 2007-08 school year for community schools in the area. It printed in last Thursday’s paper.
UPDATE: Last night’s meeting of the governing board of Springfield Academy was primarily about this editorial, not the article from last week I linked to above.
Look for a response from the board in the coming weeks.
