…And we’re back!
After a nearly two month hiatus, the Springfield Schools News and Issues blog is back.
I’m the new education reporter for the Springfield News Sun, Megan Gildow. I started with the News Sun Monday.
Starting tomorrow look for regular updates on breaking school news, additional info on school issues in that day’s paper and interesting education stories locally as well as across the state and nation.
I’m really excited to be covering education in Clark County and look forward to hearing from readers via commenting on this blog and e-mail. You can also call me at 937-328-0373.
Most importantly, I want this blog to be the readers’ blog too, so please let me know what you want to discuss or read more about. I’m always open to story suggestions and happy to answer any questions you may have.
If you want a little biographical information on me, it’s after the jump.
I’ve been covering education in Ohio for two and a half years, most recently at the Middletown Journal. Prior to that I was at the Western Star, a weekly paper in Warren County, for a year.
I’ve covered urban, rural and suburban public districts, higher education, charter schools and private schools.
I’m a 2005 graduate of Ohio University’s Scripps School of Journalism and a native of the greater Dayton area.

Megan: welcome to the Educational Beat for Clark County. You will find educational environment in Clark County to be unique, yet each district shares similar issues and concerns. Looking forward to working with you and continuing to get factual information to the residents of our communities.
