Small Business Saturday this weekend; what’s your favorite small biz?
Wedged between Black Friday and Cyber Monday is a holiday for the little guys and girls.
The second annual Small Business Saturday is planned for Nov. 26.
The day after you fight the crowds at the malls and big box stores, check out some local businesses.
The Miami Valley has some great little shops selling unique items. Hit an Oregon District art gallery or a dress shop in downtown Centerville or Oakwood.
Try out a locally owned business in Beavercreek, Miamisburg, Trotwood, Huber Heights, Kettering….
They won’t bite.
American Express is promoting the day with a Facebook page. Click here for more information.
While we are on the subject, what is your favorite locally owned business, big or small?

Bella Quilts is my favorite. They don’t skimp on service, they have an excellent selection of fabrics, patterns, and supplies. There classes run the gamut to sewing accent items to quilts.

I’ll do my Small Business Saturday shopping at the same place I shop almost every Saturday, The PNC 2nd Street Public Market. There you can hit a multitude of small business and shop for food as well as a wide variety of gift items. If you’ve never been, plan to go this holiday season. Corner of 2nd and Webster Streets. Bring the family and have breakfast or lunch at one of the many find food vendors.

I love the small on-line business TravelKiddy. They make kits to entertain children while traveling. They are FULL of great activities to keep kids engaged in more than just watching a movie or playing a video game. The owner created the kits after doing a lot of international travelling with her children and takes the time to actually test her products with kids, which helps ensure the kits really entertain! I’ve ordered several kits in different sizes and even give them as gifts when I know someone will be travelling soon. It’s also great to be able to contact them to customize a kit and talk to the owner, with her kids in the background. You know you are supporting a family-run small business. She’s a Beavercreek grad to boot! www.travelkiddy.com

Thirsty and Mojo: If you like Kramer’s selection of products, you should also take a look at Lucky’s Tap Room. They also have a wide variety.
