Restaurant and boutiques team up for Wednesday series

Ladies who love a good show while they lunch should give Signature Wednesdays at L’Auberge a try.

The restaurant located at 4120 Far Hills Avenue in Kettering will resume its fashion show/ luncheon program with a style show Nov. 9 by Get Dressed of Oakwood.

Wares from Secret Ingredient in Kettering will be showcased Nov. 16. Kettering’s Elan will present fashions Nov. 30.

Seating begins at 11:30 a.m. The shows begin by noon. Call L’Auberge for reservations at 299-5536. The restaurant first launched its lunch program last spring.

Here is a sampling of the stores’ fall forecasts:

•Get Dressed says the focus will be novelty furs, capes/ponchos, lace and sequin embellishments, and all the right accessories: boots, scarves, handbags and jewelry.

• Secret Ingredient will celebrate a season filled with great brights - red, purple, teal and greens as well as back to basics black, grey and brown Its strongest items so far are vests in knits, furs, faux leathers and sweater coats with unique trims and fabric detail. There are both skinny and Palazzo’s pants in news solids and print patterns. Watch for tunic dresses over leggings or tights with boots; asymmetrical side draped fabrics; and iPhone and fingerless gloves in suedes, knits and fur with details like stones with studs. The store says color blocking, larger and dangling earrings, wide cuffs and belts with metal details, multi strands necklaces, chunky chokers, dots in clothing and accessories and animal print combined with interesting new prints and patterns will be big trends this season.

• Elan will feature baby alpaca, cashmere, and down outerwear. With the holidays approaching, a few party and cocktail looks with also be shown during its fashion show. There will be rich textured sweaters wraps and scarves showcased by Sarah Pacini’s unique layered designs.

Elan owner Julie Shone-Baker says the dress makes a strong statement this fall - worn in rich deep jewel tones as well as reliable neutrals: black, grey and camel. The designs for fall 2011 are punctuated by a little animal print, a touch of sparkle and a whisper of lace, she says.
