The event sponsored by the Miami Valley Pet Therapy Association will feature a costume contest, vendors, raffle baskets, door prizes, dog agility, drill team demonstrations and face and paw painting. At least one signed NASCAR item will be included in the event’s silent auction.
Registration is $30 the day of the walk and begins at 9:30 a.m.
The dog walk will be held rain or shine and begins with an 11 a.m. Blessing of the Animals.
The costume contest starts at 12:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for best costume in categories, including best dog and owner costumes.
More than 140 dogs and their people attended last year’s walk. More than $10,000 was raised.
The Miami Valley Pet Therapy Association is an all-volunteer organization that offers pet therapy visits from specially trained canines and felines to people in nursing homes and hospitals, along with children’s reading and library programs.
