Dayton mentioned in new Clooney flick

George Clooney’s new film about presidential politics and scandal is set in and was filmed mostly in Cincinnati.

But the recently released film “The Ides of March” does give attention to this city.

The Dayton Daily News print edition appears in a few scenes, and a C-SPAN aired debate is held at the “Dayton Community College.”

You also may catch some familiar faces in the film. Numerous people from this part of the state were used as extras. A few have speaking roles.

Watch for the Cincinnati landmarks.

Ryan Gosling plays a staffer for a Democratic candidate for president portrayed by Clooney.

The film is now in theaters.

What do you think?

Pretty pathetic to get excited about a mention of a non-existent community college and a has-been newspaper in some flick. How about getting concerned about something worthwhile???

It’s clear they were refering to Sinclair-but why didn’t they just say it?

Shut it Spinnies. Don’t click on the link if you are not interested. Your negativity is the real outrage.

It’s a great movie…Ryan Gosling is and extraordinary actor and is making a mark or par to George. Go see it! Academy worthy for sure! Sidenote: Also see Drive and Crazy, Stupid Love. Ryan is great in all 3 movies…all 3 dvd’s will be in my collection.

Hey, free speech - I call’em like a see ‘em. If it’s an outrage to be negative about something, I guess maybe it’s the subject and not the message that’s the problem.

Umm, spinnies, if it’s a “has-been newspaper,” why are you wasting your time reading the online version of it? You do know that this website is daytondailynews.com, right? Also, how exactly is it a has-been paper? It’s obviously still current enough that you access it for your local news.

Children, please! If you can’t say something nice you don’t need to comment. How many people around the world would know where Sinclair CC is? Most folks have heard of Dayton and Cincinnati, and know they are nearby cities. And children, don’t pick on Widdle Spinnies. I expect you all to be nice to him, what with his problems and all….

I find it very interesting that a number of my posts have been deleted - I think the DDN staff (and/or various readers) have thin skins. Have no fear - I won’t be sticking around to read CCN/AP rehash on this site anymore. I like to swim, not sink with the ship!
