Space shuttle launch to be shown on local dome Friday
Weather permitting, Dayton area residents will watch the launch of Atlantis on a very big “screen” Friday.
The Boonshoft Museum’s Caryl D. Philips Space Theater will host a live viewing of NASA’s final space shuttle mission at 11:26 a.m. Friday.
The countdown and launch of the space shuttle programs’ final run to the International Space Station will be shown on the dome of the museum’s planetarium. It will be 135th mission in the shuttle program’s 30-year history.
Boonshoft’s programs begins at 11:00 a.m. and is included with regular admission.
The museum is located at 2600 Deweese Parkway, Dayton.
