Celebrities spotted at Oregon District bar

My father (James Wynn) will never forget his first dining experience at Sidebar in the Oregon District.
While we were eating our Father’s Day Brunch meal, comedian Dave Chappelle ran (literally) by our table, followed by two young boys. He left the restaurant and bar and took a stroll outside. All while sipping out of a latte mug.
The celebrity parade continued when Phillip Bailey of Earth, Wind & Fire showed up for a gathering that was taking place in the party room.
My father couldn’t stop grinning as he wrapped up his Huevos Rancheros. We joked about the fact that we saw two celebrities in Dayton in such a short time period. Our high was deflated a little when we realized we had a cell phone camera on the table the whole time, but forgot to use it.
Oh well, at least we have our mental snapshots of a moment we will never forget.
Needless to say, my father had a great Father’s Day.

Kelli, this was a great feel good story, glad your dad had a fathers day to remember, even though you didn’t get the pictures, LOL. Dayton as a whole could use more uplifting stories like this one, take care.

WOW i wish i cood see some famus people here in West Milton but knowbody come up this way. i think it pretty neet that you got to see them but i would have had my cell phone READY!!!!

I see celebrities all the time and they ask for my autograph. When I drink beer, I drink Dos Equis.

I’ve seen Dave Chappelle many times at the yellow springs pool w/ his family. i think he likes it there cuz nobody comes up to him and bugs him. it was neat seeing him but nobody approached him, everybody was acting like he was just another fella at the pool with his kids
