Local girls’ play to premiere this week
From Meredith Moss, Dayton Daily News staff writer
Two members of John Paul’s Troupe, a drama group for teens, have written an original musical based on the popular “Anne of Green Gables” series. The play will be preformed Thursday through Friday.
“Rilla-My-Rilla,” based on the book “Rilla of Ingleside” by Lucy Maud Montgomery, will be presented by the Dayton Catholic home schooling community through its weekly Immaculate HEART co-operative.
The co-op offers a variety of activities for homeschoolers and is a ministry of Emmanuel Catholic Church. Playwrights are Elena Luke and Maya Vansuch.
The show will be presented at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday and at 2 and 7 p.m. on Saturday at The Miami Valley School Alumni Theatre, 5151 Denise Drive in Washington Twp. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students and seniors, free for kids under 5. A family pass is $25.

I’ve seen the play in rehearsal and it is fantastic! The teen talent is amazing. These two young ladies have creaed a treasure of lovely music, lyrics, and have a knack for play-writing that adult writers just dream about!
