UD student in running to be Charlie Sheen’s intern

Justin Lovelace thinks he can help the Vatican assassin warlock’s brand online.

The 21-year-old University of Dayton communications student has made it to the fourth stage in Charlie Sheen’s search for a social media intern. Only 50 candidates remain out of 82,148 applicants from 181 countries.

Charlie Sheen may have been seen in the public as crazy, but Lovelace says the application process hosted by Internships.com has been anything but.

Among other things, Lovelace submitted a professional resume, wrote an essay answering why he would make the best “tiger blood” intern and submitted a Youtube video answering one of a handful of questions.

The junior answered a question asking which company best utilizes social media in today’s social economic climate. He picked the deal site Groupon.com

He is waiting for word from TeamSheen about what will be involved in the next stage.

From the Chicago area, Lovelace is concentrating in public relations and minoring in philosophy and political science. He hopes to ultimately become an entertainment lawyer.

Sheen was famously fired from his hit Sitcom “Two and a Half Men” in March.

Since then he’s taken his show on the road. He is touring his stage show.

Helping manage Sheen’s brand through Twitter, Facebook, blogging and other online avenues will be a career enhancer as it would offer real world experience, Lovelace said, noting that the embattled star is among the hottest topic in entertainment.

Lovelace said the internship would keep him on his toes.

“It is really going to help develop your skill set,” the 21-year-old said.
