Washington Twp. woman gets billboard for her birthday
When Sally Royer of Washington Twp. said she wanted something “big” for her birthday she probably wasn’t thinking of a billboard.
But that’s exactly what the social worker for Miamisburg City Schools received.
Her husband, Bob Royer, surprised her with the sign in the 1220 block of Patterson Boulevard Saturday on the way to her birthday party at the Oregon Express in Dayton’s Historic Oregon District. Sally Royer’s actual 50th birthday was Friday.
The billboard show Royer in her eighth grade glory with the words: “Oh no.. Say it isn’t so. Sally’s Turning the Big 5-0.”
Bob Royer, president of BHA Pianocenter, replaced a billboard advertising his business with one the one for his wife.
He says his wife has always been proud of her eighth grade photo. It was taken shortly after her braces were removed and shows her with a fresh shag hair cut and tinted oval glasses.
The Royers will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary in August. They have three children.
What do you think?
Would you want your name on a billboard?
