Students to benefit from company’s $240,000 donation
The Reynolds and Reynolds Company Foundation has upped its donation to Wright State University students entering the College of Engineering and Computer Science.
About $240,000 will be donated to the Reynolds and Reynolds Leadership Scholars Program. It was established in 2009 with a $100,000 donation from Reynolds and Reynolds’ foundation.
Thirty-four engineering college students will each receive the $2,500 annual scholarship awards for up to four years.
The gift was presented to the university Friday during the Wright State men’s basketball game at the Nutter Center.
It comes as many companies are reducing their contributions to education causes.
Corporate donations dropped 5.7 percent in 2009 compared to the prior year, the Wright State says. Data is based on information from Council for Aid to Education. Foundation giving was down 9.5 percent during the same time period.

I guess they think if they help pay for part of your education it will justify paying significantly less than market wages once you’re hired. R&R has quickly become an employer of last resort in the area since the UCS takeover 4 years ago.
