National show to feature area missing woman’s disappearance
Investigation Discovery will feature the case of Richmond, Ind. resident and Sinclair Community College student Marilyn “Niqui” McCown on the next episode of “Disappeared” 10 p.m. Monday.
McCown was last seen Sunday, July 22, 2001 at a Richmond Laundromat.
The then 28-year-old single mother worked at Dayton’s Montgomery Education and Pre-Release Center and was planning her wedding.
Her SUV was found months after her disappearance at the Meadows of Catalpa Apartment Complex in Harrison Twp.
McCown once lived in the complex with her fiance as did Tommy Swint, McCown’s former colleague and friend.
Swint, who was considered a person of interest in McCown’s case, was indicted in February for purposefully causing the death of Tina Marie Ivery.
The 33-year-old’s broken and partly nude body was found in Jefferson Twp. trash heap in December 1991.
Swint never answered charges.
The former Trotwood police officer shot and killed himself as police approached his Alabama home.
McCown’s family has long fought to keep her story in the public’s mind. Disappeared asks viewers to share fresh leads on missing person’s cases.

I think it’s important to keep this and many other missing person’s stories alive in the media. Until the missing are brought home or their remains are found the families have no closure…only hope to cling to.

I have often thought of Niqui & wondered if there were any new leads. Too bad Swint is gone & can’t tell us where she is. Her family needs to know.
