Oakwood couple opens all digital photo studio
Oakwood’s Terry and Lindsey Posey are cutting out the paper with their new all-digital portrait photography studio.
Lindsey Posey said it will be a first for the area and will offer clients professionally taken images on a computer flash drive only.
“We are going to give people what they really want,” she said. “It’s a digital world.”
Flash Photography clients will be given the license to the images and can do with them what they want, Posey said, noting that possibilities include print the images and/or posting them to Facebook.
The store’s grand opening at the Mall of Fairfield Commons is set for this weekend, October 8-10. The business will be open only weekend hours and located next to Elder-Beerman Men’s, Kids, Home and Furniture.
Photo sessions are $60 for 20 minutes or $100 for 40 minutes. The 20 minute photo session is discounted to $45 in celebration of the grand opening.

A great idea at a great value. The last time I took the kids to a photo studio I paid four times as much and was not given digital rights to the photos.

You get what you pay for, and high quality portraiture costs a lot more than $100 for 40 minutes. Not betting this will last long.

Hi DaytonDiner. I’m the person quoted in the article. I’m wondering if maybe we have different definitions of high quality portraiture. Our customers (both invited and walk in) at the preview weekend gave rave reviews. I hope if you’re in the market for new portraits, you’ll come out and see what we’re about. Our goal is to provide both quality portraits and value — and with our business model not dependent on selling prints, I think we provide a unique opportunity for both. If you’d like to discuss further, feel free to give us a call or contact us via the website.

Hrm, I think I’ll stay booked with Childer’s Photography. Digital is just too cheap for preserving the memories of a lifetime.

Oh boy the snippy set is out to bah humbug this. It really is not fair to pay for pictures of yourself and not be able to use them on facebook. Good for them hope it works, and top the snippy set ignore them. They are the ones who don’t want you to be able to use the pictures of yourself as you want. I mean really!

For those who can’t manage digital cameras, I guess this will be OK. Most people are getting pretty savvy about photography these days. $60 for 20 minutes is a little crazy. Best of luck to you though.
