Milking cows on FarmVille get councilman ousted

There a time to milk virtual cow, find mysterious eggs and chase off ransacking raccoons then there is a time to talk about budgets and capital improvement projects.

Dimitar Kerin apparently didn’t know the difference.

A devotion to the Facebook application FarmVille led to Kerin being ousted from city council in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, according to the Bulgarian news site Novinite.com.

Kerin and others apparently used the city’s wireless Internet network to play the highly addictive and insanely annoying game during council meetings.

It seems he planted soybeans in one too many fields.

A former member of Kerin’s party plowed his eggplants, saying that Kerin “needs more time for his virtual farm.”

But Kerin fought back saying that he was not the only one playing the game. In fact, he had only reached level 40 while Daniela Zhelyazkova has reached level 46.

Kerin and Zhelyazkova aren’t the only Facebook-loving, FarmVille fans. Nearly 83 million people reportedly play FarmVille a month.

What do you think?

How old is this guy, 12? I live on a farm and ain’t got time to play games. Gotta feed and water livestock, repair fences and maintain equipment. He can come and help me for the real experience.

I play on farmville, but there is a time and place for everything. To me playing during a council meeting is not the place. Before the meeting after the meeting, but not during it. I’m sure if making him quit, when he states there are others playing as well is right. Make all of them quit, or supspend him for a couple of week with the understanding he can’t do that again.
