Area grad smacked in Super Bowl commercial
A familiar face to some Miami Valley residents was smacked over chips during an ad that aired during the Super Bowl Sunday.
Former Dayton resident Dion Lack, known as Roderick Lacking, starred in the Doritos’ Super Bowl commercial “House Rules” by Joelle De Jesus of Hollywood, Calif.
The 2000 Colonel White High School grad was smacked after eating an overprotective little boy’s Doritos, a spokesperson for the snack food maker confirmed.
“Keep your hands off my mama and keep your hands off my Doritos,” the little boy warns Lacking in the 34 second spot.
The commercial was one of four consumer submitted Doritos ads aired during the football game as part of Doritos Crash the Super Bowl contest.
The creators of the four winning ad and two semi-finalists that didn’t make the telecast won $25,000.
This is the second year the Dayton area has been represented in the Doritos contest.
A commercial by Mike Goubeaux, a 2000 Tippecanoe High School grad, was a finalist last year, but didn’t make it to air.

In a year where commercials for the SB were very non-memorable, this one was the best, IMO. On a side note, does anyone know if the guy in the McDonald’s Dollar commercial (where he goes around seeing what he can get for a dollar) is from the area?

I’m just a little concerned about the message that this commercial sends to little ones. It is cute, not doubt, but it is also encouraging disrespect for elders/parents, as well as encouraging physical response to a minor situation. Again, I agree that it is cute, but……..

This is a cute commercial. It has all the ingredients, cute kid, sexy woman, good looking guy, food. But, does it really send the message we want our kids to get? Do we really want our kids slapping an adult over a minor thing that might have been handled without physical contact?

This commercial was the BEST out of all! Some are concerned about the little boy slapping the guy, however, it’s just COMEDY! Comedy is meant to exaggerate, simple as that! Let’s not read this commercial more than what it is meant to do!!

The parents need to let the kids know that its TV and that even though the kid did that on TV it is NOT tolerated in the house. Its not the TV people job to censor what their kids watch or hear its the adults. If you don’t want your kids to watch it. Then just change the channel or turn the TV off.
