Diet plan fight! Who should win Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers?

Finally a fight not involving Conan or Jay.

Weight Watchers International has squared up in an epic battle against diet plan rival Jenny Craig.

It claims a Jenny Craig commercial starring Valerie Bertinelli is misleading and deceptive.

In other words, Weight Watchers says Jenny Craig is a big, fat liar.

Weight Watchers takes issue with statements about a study comparing Weight Watchers current weight-loss program and Jenny Craig’s pre-packaged meals system, according to the AP.

According to a court filing described by Bloomberg News, Bertinelli dons a lab coat and says the following referring to Weight Watchers:

“Jenny Craig clients lost, on average, over twice as much weight as those on the largest weight-loss program.”

This all begs a very important question: which of the two diet plans do you think work best?

The only the other thing that would make this better is if Nutrisystem and its pitch woman Marie Osmond got involved.

Imagine the weight that would be lost during a three-way wrestling match.

The thing about Weight Watchers that is better than any other program is that they TEACH you how to eat better—you learn portion control, etc., whereas the other plans have you eating specific food that you may not be able to afford your whole life.

Anything works, if you work it. However, Weight Watchers is something you can do the rest of your life. You learn how to make good choices. Jenny Craig is prepackaged foods. How long can you afford it and do you really think you can survive on prepackaged foods the rest of your life? Do you WANT to? Slow and steady wins the race. Weight Watchers is a slow, realistic eating way of life. It is not a diet like Jenny Craig.

As a former Weight Watcher member several years ago, I learned what to eat and not eat to maintain my weight. If I gain a few pounds over the holidays I know how to get them off. Could not afford Jenny Craig - too expensive.

I tried Jenny Craig, lost 60 pounds. Problem is they didn’t teach me anything. Didn’t even have the same counselor regularly. Guess you only get that special treatment if you’re a celebrity spokesperson. It’s Weight Watchers for me now.

I have used Weight Watchers off and on for the past couple of years and been very successful. What Jenny Craig doesn’t say in the advertisements with Valerie Bertinelli, is that she hired a personal trainer to get to her bikini body.

Jenny Craig DOES teach you to eat your own foods. I have lost over 70lbs and when I reached my halfway way, they taught me how to start eating my own foods and am now maintaining my weight loss by stopping in once a month to make sure I’m still doing well on my own. You can lost weight on any program, you just need to find the one that works best for you, and for me, having the portion control in the beginning with their foods, really helped me realize what portions I was eating before.
