Dayton native Scott Sternberg continued a long string of successes this week with his Spring/Summer collection unveiled during Fashion Week. Sternberg’s Los Angeles-based labels were shown Saturday, Sept. 12.

The New York Times praised the boat shoes that Sternberg, the son of Marc and Maureen Sternberg of Kettering, included with his men’s collection, Band of Outsiders.
Boy, his women’s brand, “had some clever ideas for spring as well, like an Herve Leger-style bandage skirt made of green-and-blue-striped suspenders,” the newspaper said.
The Wall Street Journal said Boy “seem inspired by how the cool kids in prep school wore their clothes, preppy attired a little more affected than the straight arrows.”
The Los Angeles Times called Band of Outsiders a “sunny, preppy at play collection” inspired by “Malibu circa 1978, Jacques Cousteau’s ‘The Silent World,’ and Dennis Wilson’s ‘Pacific Ocean Blue.’”
