William Shatner spoofs Sarah Palin’s speech beatnik-style
If you thought former Alaskan Gov. Sarah Palin’s resignation speech was…spectacular, what will you think of the way “master thespian” William Shatner delivered it on “The Tonight Show” Monday night, July 26?
Show host Conan O’Brien joked that the speech was intended as a poem.
Watch Shatner do it beatnik-style. In a word, breathtaking.

The media is sick. If they were not so afraid of Palin why would they harass her. I am disappointed in William Shatner. I am not a Palin fan but I am disgusted at the way she is being treated. So very, very unfair. I will stop watching his show. I feel that Shatner has a right to his opinion but his attack is uncalled for. He should have a little respect.By Mr.Logic

More proof Ms. Palin is like 99.99 % of all Republicans, No Substance, just rants about taxes and no real plans on how to solve problems in health care and in this example a poor reading of a poem.By jp

she is nothing more than empty vessel with a pretty face for the republican party when they had no one else. Her hockey-mom beer swilling attitude did not represent american woman, and her fighting with grandbaby’s daddy was more than immature. Kudos Bill, very entertaining.By CubicleLarry

Just curious, when did it become off limits to poke fun at a public figure?? Just another example of why this country is so pssified. Life hurts, get a helmet. Good luck continuing the pssification of America, its going great!By Doghaus

Why is it that the liberals are so full of hate? Wishing that anyone that does not fit in their mold to be a complete idiot or die. If we said the same things about your people you would be up in arms. If a black or a woman has conservative views, you immediately peg them as morons rather than celebrating that they have overcome hardships to get where they are. Sad world these days.By anotherprettyface

To Doghaus: it’s not a liberal or conservative thing, she is what she is no matter what party. Many of us look beyond the label, just so happens she is an R. She really is an airhead as far as political standards go.By Dummy

It’s amazing how you ignorant sleep n eat liberals keep worrying about Palin when the unqualified, racist, comm. organizer you put into office has been a total failure. His stimulus hasn’t worked, cap an tax is a farce and his health reform plan is going to destroy the best HC system in the world. So all you parasites who think the “gubberment is going to take of me”keep getting on your knees for Odumba. As for you fat, lazy, hairy liberal women who hate Sarah Palin, you can watch Oprah, eat your chips, b***h n moan why you don’t have $$$$ and wonder if your husband would kick your fat butt to the curb for one chance with Palin. He would.By are you serious?

To diaperbaby: You probably don’t realize that most of the airhead statements attributed to Palin were actually done by Tina Fey on Saturday Night Live. Try reality sometime. Another nice thing about her is that she don’t need a teleprompter to give a speech. Just look at Obama when his teleprompter don’t work. He sounds like a moron.By sassy

Tina Fey didn’t make up ANYTHING. Her “parody” was word for word from Palin’s speeches. The only thing she did was repeat it. That is what makes it soo funny. Saturday Night didn’t have to do anything.By Whatever

Rather have Palin in office versus Obama. I’m sure he is a nice guy, but all he is doing is getting the country more in debt because he is in way over his head. You all wanted change… well, here you go… you got your change, to bad he didn’t say the change was for the better…By the Strawboss

C’mon now. She makes herself an easy target with her inane rambling. People still make fun of Gore for claiming to have invented the internet. Say something stupid in public and you’ll have to deal with it.By LL

Palin is a waste of everyones thoughts and time. Just because she gave everyone in the state of Alaska a check of $1200 bucks doesn’t make her a saint. She has NO experience, NO Clue, and has no business running anything except her petty life, which she obviously has problems doing anyways. She can’t even raise her kids right, how you gonna trust her in office? So long Palin!By bill brittain

• Rep. Charles Rangel (D-NY) describes Palin as “disabled”. • South Carolina Democratic Chair Carol Fowler: “[Palin’s] primary qualification seems to be that she hasn’t had an abortion.” • The Cleveland Plain-Dealer’s Connie Schultz claims “[Palin] outed her pregnant daughter… [abortion] was never really a choice for this girl, unless she was willing to derail her mother’s political career.” • The New York Times’ Judith Warner characterizes Palin’s selecton as a “thoroughgoing humiliation for America’s women.” • Chicago Sun-Times Columnist Mary Mitchell says “Sarah Palin makes me sick… [she] scares me… I couldn’t help but wonder what it’s really like for [her] kids.” • The Washington Post’s Wendy Doniger: “Her greatest hypocrisy is in her pretense that she is a woman.” • Salon’s Juan Cole: “What is the difference between Palin and a Muslim fundamentalist? Lipstick.” • Air America’s Randi Rhodes: “She’s friends with all the teenage boys. You have to say no when your kids say, ‘can we sleep over at the Palin’s? No! Why don’t you racist, backwards hicks just say what you really want to say about Obama? Call him a ni**er. You know you want to. You show such hate and racism it makes me sick. cubsman, which “right wing religious folks” wanted to kill her? I missed that. And racistba@yahoo.com, why can’t you accept that there are people who disagree with Pres. Obama’s policies, just as they disagreed with John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, etc.? Disagreement doesn’t necessarily equal racism. However, gratuitous accusations of racism are generally an attempt to stifle dissent.
