Shopaholic author to show her shoes to Books&Co audience
“Confessions of a Shopaholic” author Sophie Kinsella will show off her famed shoe closet and talk about her new fashion-driven, supernatural novel during a skyping event 7 p.m., August 6 at Books & Co at the Greene, 4435 Walnut Street, Beavercreek.
Kinsella will not appear in person. She will answer questions and read passages from her latest work via a live video feed.
“We will see her on the screen,” said Books & Co spokeswoman Sharon Kelly Roth. “There will be interaction with the audience.”
Kinsella’s new novel “Twenties Girl” (Dial Press, $25) hits bookstores July 21. The book is set partly in the 1920s and tells the story of two two young women separated by time who are both trying to find their way in the world.
Kinsella will give fans a rare glimpse of her London home, including her shoe closet, during the event, according to book publicist Aleka Mesaros.
“It’s a nice little sneak peek,” Mesaros said.
The free event includes a party with beads and champagne flutes. Attendees are encourage to dress in 20s garb. Signed copies of the book will be available.
Kinsella’s Shopaholic series has sold millions of copies. Isla Fisher, Sacha Baron Cohen’s girlfriend, starred in the recently released big screen adaptation of “Confessions of a Shopaholic.”
