Beware of hairballs today
If you have a cat you are probably very aware of hairballs and the very exciting shapes and smells they can take on.
For everyone else, today, April 24, is National Hairball Awareness Day or so we are told.
It is a day of reflection and family. Take the day off work and plan a hairball fest if you are so inclined.
You can easily decorate the supper table with hairballs and other things cats cough up.
Hang a wreath made of hairballs.
What, you don’t like hairballs?
Here are three hairball solutions from hairball reduction product maker FURminator:
Regularly brush your felines.
Add a small amount of butter and canned pumpkin to your cat’s meals once or twice a week.
Encourage your cat to drink plenty of water.
Tell us what you think and/or share your tips. Comment below.

There’s nothing like a good hairball left in the hallway in the middle of the night so it can be stepped on in barefeet on the way to the bathroom.By Oh yeah!

I agree with ELW - nothing like a good hairball left in the hallway in the middle of the night so it can be stepped in first thing in the morning.By Arnie

We need to contact Chubby Checker and have him write and sing a song called Do the Hairball which is the dance you do after you step on that cold wet thing in the hallway in the middle of the night!By Steve L

Butter I understand, but pumpkin? That’s a new one. I usually put a dab of vaseline on my cat’s nose for her to lick off… seems to do the trickBy April

My cats shed like crazy and I haven’t ever seen a hairball. Maybe it’s cause we pet all the loose fur off and they get baths.By Karla
