Kids blame Rihanna for attack
Many kids think pop singer Rihanna got what she deserved when allegedly beaten by boyfriend Chris Brown, a survey says.
Nearly half of the 200 kids who took part in a Boston Public Health Commission survey said Rihanna was “responsible” for the beating.
Fifty-one percent of the youth ages 12 to 19 said Brown was responsible for the incident.
The survey was designed to gauge attitudes toward teen dating violence.
All the kids surveyed had heard about the now infamous case.

All but a handful of students I recently talked to at an area high school blamed Rihanna, saying she did or said something to provoke what police describe as a savage attack.

51 percent said Chris Brown was responsible for the incident
46 percent said Rihanna was responsible for the incident
71 percent said arguing was a normal part of a relationship
44 percent said fighting was a normal part of a relationship
52 percent said both individuals were to blame for the incident, despite knowing at the time that Rihanna had been beaten badly enough to require hospital treatment
35 percent said the media were treating Rihanna unfairly
52 percent said the media were treating Chris Brown unfairly

It doesn’t matter who was at fault. What matters is that there is never a reason for a man to lay a hand on a woman. It is shameful.
