Palin edges out Oprah as most desirable celeb neighbor. No one want s to live next to Britney
Slightly more Americans would rather see Russia from their front porches than live next door to Oprah in Chicago, according to an annual survey conducted last month.
Sarah Palin (AP photo)Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin barely edged out Oprah Winfrey as the 2009 most desirable celebrity neighbor, according to the Zillow.com survey of more than 2,000 U.S. adults.
For the second year, ‘Slave 4 U’ Britney Spears was voted worse potential celebrity neighbor.
Britney Spears (AP photo) The survey conducted by Harris Interactive sought to discover which pop culture celebrities and politicians Americans thought would make the most appealing neighbors and which they wouldn’t want at the block party.
Oprah Winfrey (AP photoZillow.com is a real estate Internet site.
Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee in the November election, was favored as most desirable neighbor by 14 percent of those who took part in the online survey.
Oprah, who refused to book Palin on her show during the election, was favored by 13 percent of those who responded.
Oprah fans, blame retirees and southerners for your diva’s defeat. Those groups picked Palin disproportionately.
Palin was most desirable among men, receiving 17 percent of the adult male vote. Oprah had estrogen on her side. She was picked by 17 percent of women.
Other desirable neighbors included Michael Phelps, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Tina Fey and Anderson Cooper.
Britney was not alone on the most dreaded neighbor list. People also didn’t want to live next door to Rosie O’Donnell, Joe the Plumber, Lindsay Lohan or Adam “Pacman” Jones.

A few years ago, they tried a survey like this in Houston. The winner was Hakeem Olajuwon because, as one lady put it, “I wouldn’t have to worry about reaching to dust the ceiling fan”. Now there’s a celebrity we could ALL use as a neighbor!By middsteve
