Pins found in pot pies, recall issued
It was reported Wednesday, Jan. 20, that pot pies sold as school fundraisers in 15 states — including Ohio — were recalled after straight pins were found inside one of them.
Wallet Pop noted the recall of the Park 100 Foods product, which was being sold by the fundraising firm Market Day.
Multiple Dayton-area schools use Market Day fundraisers, although it is not clear whether area schools sold these pot pies.
If your school was selling the pot pies, comment below to help others learn of the risk.
The Market Day representative said the organization is contacting affected schools regarding the recall.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture deemed the health risk “high” for this Class I recall.
The pot pies were sold through Dec. 30.
For more information, visit the USDA site or call Market Day at (877) 632-7753 or Park 100’s Corporate Director of Quality Jim Fish at (317) 853-4280.

This is truly sad. People are so cruel these days. Hope they fired the jerk who put them in the pot pies. It’s obviously an inside job.

WOW! I’ve heard of brownies filled with pot but pies is a new one. That should be a terrific fund raiser.

LOL, Great Idea!! That WOULD make for a great fundraiser!! People would line up to fill out those order forms! They may not know why, but they would just have to have more of those “pot pies”!

Schools need to stop these fund raisers and stick to education. The State Lottery and income tax should be the only revenue used for school funding. The entire State Lottery and Commission needs to be overhauled and there should be a limit on winnings. The remainder goes to education. Time for real change and less gov.

IT REALLY IS A SHAME BUT I AGREE THAT THESE TYPE OF FUND RAISERS SHOULD BE STOPPED IT IS DANGEROUS TO SEND YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL SO WHY WOULD YOU SEND THEM OUT INTO THE PUBLIC WERE EVERYTHING IS SO CRAZY.

Why would anyone ‘assume’ that the pins were placed in the pies purposely? It’s not necessarily a ‘sicko’ or a ‘terrorist’, it could just as easily be an ‘accident’! I agree that somehow, somewhere, someone will make this the fault of either President Obama or the Democratic Party. It seems to be the thing to do these days. I also agree that these types of fundraisers really need to stop. Safety issues aside, why should our kids have to go door-to-door peddling anything? Between taxes and lottery proceeds and school fees, we should be able to educate our kids. All of that said, POT PIES? Ewwwwwww, they look like vomit in a flaky crust!

If i read right the article said “to help others learn of the risk” not just post random ignorant comments that have nothing of use to anyone. Shows the maturity of some really bored immature childish people.
