Big sales this week on clothes, office furniture, items for home
There are multiple sales going on this week at area stores; some in honor of the long weekend honoring Martin Luther King Jr. and others just because.
Here are some of the deals that stand out this week:
Kohl’s is having a Baby Sale, for anyone who has a baby (or a baby shower) in their near future, reporting “everything for baby” on big discount in true Kohl’s fashion.
Kohl’s also has 30 percent to 60 percent off bedding ensembles.
Elder-Beerman is having Cabin Fever Specials, marking down 50 percent to 70 percent throughout the store, and Kroger Marketplace is having a Home White Sale.
Sears has up to 70 percent off clearance items, and 50 percent off intimate apparel and accessories.
This also is the final day of Macy’s Super Weekend Sale and Clearance, with savings storewide up to 85 percent off.
Target is having a Great Save Event, with a variety of items on sale. Select rice cookers, toaster ovens and George Foreman Grills are $23.
Also at Target, the Polaroid Camcorder (which looks a lot like a Flip camera, complete with USB port) is just $49.99.
Office Max and Office Depot are both having office furniture sales, with Office Max marking down desk chairs up to 50 percent, and Office Depot cornering the deals market on desks, with savings of $50 to $179.99.
Office Depot also has 2010 Toshiba laptops for $100 to $170 off.
Staples also has PC discounts, with savings up to $180.
Michaels is having a Dollar Days sale, with ribbon, fake flowers, marbles, wood frames and more for just $1.
Hancock Fabrics is having a Martin Luther King Jr. Day sale through today, with 50 percent off pillow forms, foam cushions and decorator fabrics, among others.
Big Lots is having an “incredible book buyout,” with hardcover cookbooks for $5 and other hardcover books for $3.
Walgreens has select Valentine’s Day bags of candy, including Reese’s Cups and Hershey’s Kisses, two for $4, and Ty Hershey’s Beanie Babies for $3.99. (And I thought all the Webkinz had killed off the Beanie Babies.)
HHgregg has 20 percent off TVs, mattresses, camcorders, audio and more this week.
There are a few stores that have appliances on sale this week as well, including Sears, HHgregg and Best Buy.
But, as I have mentioned before, it might be best to wait to buy an appliance until the Cash for Appliances program is in play in Ohio, which should be in the next couple months. That rebate program could get you savings on top of whatever sales are taking place.
Best Buy also has TVs on sale this week.
