Macy’s, Kohl’s, JCPenney have big clearance sales
It is that time of year, when it is literally “out with the old” at area department stores.
The good news is, that means many substantial deals for us shoppers.
Macy’s is having a supposed “one-day” sale on Saturday, Jan. 9, with a preview sale today. But the deals should be just as good today — especially in the morning.
The store is having morning specials from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
Macy’s has coats, mattresses and casual clothes for men and women for up to 60 percent off, all flannel for 70 percent off, and dinnerware and china sets for 50 percent off.
There also is an extra 50 percent off clearance items storewide.
Kohl’s is kicking off a three-day sale, with clearance sales of up to 80 percent off. The biggest savings can be found during the power hours from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. today and 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
JCPenney also started a three-day sale today, with clearance items for up to 70 percent off, as well as savings for its Stock-up White Sale.
All towels, blankets and throws (excluding Snuggies), and sheets are 50 percent to 60 percent off.
Also, as noted in a Thursday post, Elder-Beerman also is in the midst of a clearance sale, with savings of 50 percent to 75 percent off.
