Project Runway Season 6 is Althea in or out?
This week’s Project Runway Challenge - “Pea in the pod”
Who will it be to make it to the next round - season 6 - ‘Project Runway?” While designers seem to love to design for stick figures, this week’s challenge to create a design for Rebecca Romijn( super model and film and television star) may prove too much for some.
The challenge; to create a design that is beautiful, sleek and form fitting - is bringing out the wackiest in many of the designers. Really, have these designers ever seen a pregnant woman?
Althea, Dayton’s contestant in this season’s competition, is getting a lot of screen time this week - is this a foreshadowing? Tim suggests her designs might be a design for night rather than day… others, especially, the guys, don’t seem to get it -“ costume land” is just around the corner.
My favorite line of the night - “Drapey, drapey sophisticated?” Oh wait, “she’s a pregnant mess!”
On the runway… there are so many crazy frumpy ugly get-ups… Louise’s design, is that for real?
Johnny’s design looked like the model had a basketball stuck under that design? Althea’s design would be perfect for a mocktail party and fit the requirements of the challenge.
While I didn’t love Louise’s design - what’s up with that, it’s certainly would be an appropriate outfit for making babies. The judges called out Althea’s design in a good way - “perfection” Elegant” - “as a whole a beautiful dress.”
Heidi’s phrase of the night - She’s a pregnant mess… I doubt that this is a good thing.
I couldn’t help but laugh through most of the judge’s conversations… it would have been fun to have Michael Kors’s witty banter around this week’s challenge.
So, will Althea win this week? …
Nope, it’s Shirrin’s turn to win, although, I’d have to say Althea came in a close second.
My guess on who goes… the guy with the chicken and egg look is “just too bizarre” for the judges - and Malvin goes.

I thought it was an interesting episode - it is so good to have it back! I loved when Tim looked at Malvin’s design and said, “I’m not bored…” tee hee! I think the judges were dead on with Shirrin and Althea as the top two - but I did really miss Michael - would have loved to hear his input too! It was okay for Malvin to go home - though as Tim said - he didn’t bore me! :)

I think Althea had by far the most elegant design. With the exception being a bit too tight in the bustline, it came close to perfection. Althea did get a lot of screen time this episode. I liked the way she truly showed interest in what the other designers were working on. Let’s hope our girl makes it to the final three!
