Idol judges finally use “save.” Beware the disco!
First of all, all our loyal bloggers noticed immediately that I had forgotten writing about Matt last night. This concerns me because I never noticed he was missing. Not even when I reread what I wrote. Does that mean he was that forgettable? He’s one of my favorites so I hope that’s not a bad omen.
Tonight, the guest performers will be Miley Cyrus singing her current single, plus former Idol Jennifer Hudson. Just an FYI, for those of you who don’t know yet, the American Idols Live! Tour starts July 5 in Portland, Ore.
I’m having a hard time believing what I’m reading on DialIdol.com tonight. They have Kris going home with the bottom three being Kris, Matt and Allison. The top of the pack is Danny, Lil, Adam, and Anoop in that order. I’m losing faith in the predictive success of DialIdol. I guess we will see later tonight.
Our poll didn’t make it up for some reason this week but here’s what our regular bloggers see happening with this week’s results…
Shantei says the bottom 3 will be Allison, Matt, and Kris with Matt going home.
Heather said Allison, Matt and Lil. Out of the 3, she’s picking Lil to go home.
Rene says Allison, Lil and Anoop or Matt with Lil leaving.
Kim says Matt, Lil and Danny or Kris with Lil going home.
Michael predicts Lil, Matt & Kris, with the possibility of Danny thrown in.
Coach says Matt, Adam & Allison with Matt going home.
And just a reminder that I said Lil, Matt and Allison with Lil leaving tonight.
We start with Ryan asking Allison to stand and then sit on the couch. She’s safe. Next is Adam and he’s safe too. Time for Anoop and for the third week in a row is in the bottom three.
Jennifer Hudson sings If This Isn’t Love from her self titled, Grammy winning, first album. She has such a beautiful voice and she is just an amazing talent. Much, much, much better than Kelly Pickler last week. I’m still hearing bad notes from that performance.
Two more people need to join Anoop and Ryan asks Kris and Lil to stand up. Simon offers up that he thought Kris was brilliant last night and Paula enthusiastically agrees. Kris is safe and Lil joins Anoop in the bottom three. Now Matt and Danny stand. Danny is safe and Matt is in the bottom three.
So none of our loyal bloggers predict the bottom three! Neither did DialIdol.com. In fact, they only got one of the three. Hehe. We are doing better than they are.
Ryan puts Anoop out of his misery and tells him to go back to the couch because he is safe before Miley Cyrus performs her current single. I admit that I’m not a big Miley fan, despite the fact that my nieces just love her, but even she was spectacularly better than Pickler. Okay. I’ll stop now.
Okay, dim the lights and after the nationwide vote of over 36,000,000, Lil will have to endure the competition at least one more week. Matt is going to have to sing for his life. During his performance the judges don’t even actively listen most of the time..they just discuss. Then all of the sudden Kara and Paula stand up and dance like maniacs. Does this mean they are extremely happy that they are going to save him??
Ryan says to Matt. I’m sure nothing in your singing life has been as tough as that song right there. Matt says, a little bit tough. Yes, a little bit tough. Simon doesn’t think Matt was as good as last night and he doesn’t see him winning the competition. Booooo from the audience. Booooo from me!!!
But he tells him it’s good news and they have used the judges save to save Matt. I think the other contestants went crazier than the audience did. Ryan is chasing Matt down to catch his tears on camera. Come on. Give the kid a few minutes.
Surprised at the use of the save tonight? On Matt? I’m not.
Simon says this isn’t really great news because next week they will eliminate two people and it is Disco week. Oh fun. I lived through Disco. I went to Disco’s with the flashing bright light floors in college. I cannot wait to see how these top seven handle Disco. Fun!! This season rocks!

I was afraid Anoop would be in the bottom 3 - I just didn’t want to say it out loud cos I didn’t want him there - lol! But it will have to be his time to go before long. Dial-Idol has been useless this year - I think it’s just been too close for them to predict with any degree of accuracy. I wasn’t surprised that they kept Matt. It was their next to last week that they could even use it, and the bottom three have been fairly consistent. I think they are counting on America to get it right. And I know they nearly always seem to find an excuse about this time in the competition to not eliminate someone - I know one year it was because of Idol Gives Back. So I figured it was coming now that their time to use it was nearly up. I am glad to see Matt stay, but it may very well only be for one more week. At any rate - I’ll take it. Ha, ha, ha, ha, stayin’ alive, ha ha ha ha ha stayin’ aliiiiiive…bring on the disco! :)

I can’t believe DDN wastes any web space with this. Let’s talk about “Deadliest Catch” and crab fishing. Real “reality” TV. :-)

What a relief! :) I was a little worried when Simon said that he thought one might be worth saving and that person might be surprised to know it was them. I thought - no, it can’t be Lil! I love Matt. Yes, he has had some off weeks, but I’m hoping maybe this was his kick in the butt to realize he needs to stick to what he does so well. I do think with 2 going home next week, it’s going to be a bit of a toss up. I’m sure I’ll be disappointed with at least one of the choices. So, they don’t have the save left to use on Adam. Boo-hoo. Look at the history of this show…..if the “right” people think he is as fabulous as so many others, I’m sure he won’t have a hard time with his career should he get kicked off before his “time”.

Hummm…I’m surprised that they saved him, but so it goes.2 go home next week.Without hearing anybody sing the disco,my guess is that Matt and Anoop will be out.Let you know next week!

Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!!! What if Alison or Adam get unvoted in the bottom 3 next week- it could happen as Allison has been there once. Next week there’ll be 2 eliminated. No save for the best now. Matt is NOT WORTH IT! It’s not a talent contest - it’s a fastest dialing contest! Stupid choice!

All I can say is wow Kelle! I knew Matt was going home, but to use the save on him, I don’t know. My bottom 3 was all messed up! Anoop? No. Lil? Maybe. Next week will be interesting! It will be do or die!
