‘American Idol’ shocker…Gina is gone?!?
Oh my goodness can this be the night Sanjaya goes home? Don’t think so if you believe Howard Stern or DialIdol.com. DialIdol has him getting the third most votes. But I have to start doubting this website because it has Phil Stacy getting the second most votes. I love Phil’s eyes and smile but he’s not the next Idol. The three with the least number of votes on DialIdol? Gina, LaKisha, and Haley on the bottom. At the top? Melinda of course.
Now, taking a look at what the DDN.com poll voters think; the Top 3 are Melinda, Blake and Jordin in that order. Bottom three? Sanjaya took 79% of our votes for the worst, followed by Phil (9%) and Haley (4%).
Now for reality the contestants are divided into three sets of three. First set of three is Blake Lewis, Chris Richardson, and Sanjaya Malakar. Second group Haley Scarnato, Phil Stacey and Gina Glocksen. The last group is Melinda Doolittle, Jordin Sparks, and LaKisha Jones. Ryan immediately dismisses this group to their seats because they were the Top 3. The next group is not the Top 3, but they are not the bottom three either Blake, Chris and Sanjaya.
So our bottom three are Haley Scarnato, Phil Stacey and Gina Glocksen. If we take Sanjaya completely out of the picture, this is the right bottom three. But who is leaving? I’m guessing Haley.
So Mr. Tony Bennett is just wonderful! Ryan called him a true legend. But unfortunately legends can come down with the flu and so has Mr. Bennett. So who stands in for him? Probably the one person who could Michael Buble’. Oh pitter pat, my heart is unexpectedly a flutter! I just love this guy! He kind of reminds me a lot of a dear friend of mine, so it was extra fun to watch him tonight. Michael is also already on board the Idol Gives Back charity episode and don’t forget, you can pre-order his CD which is due out on May 1. If you have never owned a CD of his I would highly recommend it!! But I digress
Whose is outta here tonight? First Ryan sends Phil back to safety. The two girls left standing are both in tears and I’m already sad because Sanjaya should be leaving this week. Simon is not surprised at Gina and Haley being up there. Randy was surprised and Paula skirted the issue. After 33,000,000 votes (the highest of the season so far) Gina leaves us tonight. This is wrong. Haley should have gone before Gina, Phil too. I’m actually in shock.
It also seemed like almost all of her co-idols were crying as well. Then…can you believe she has to sing the song “Smile” to leave the competition? Cruel and unusual I say. Cruel and unusual.
So, was it as big of a surprise to you as it was me?

Are you serious? Sanjaya the only one with orginality and charisma? I can’t believe anyone actually thinks that. Sanjaya is by far the worst singer left and is nothing but a fake. Phil, Haley, and especially Sanjaya deserved the boot much more than Gina. This season is just proving how superficial the American general public actually is.

I prefer Sanjaya because he’s the only one this year with originality and charisma. He’s not the worst singer. While he’s not the best, Melinda has a blank vacant look that’s spooky. Jordin gets on my last nerve. Gina should have went home long ago. No one with a tongue ring can sing right. Maybe she should figure that out and try out 3 more times. I’m glad she’s gone. America got it right. So does Howard Stern. Sanjaya is the only star on the show, other than Ryan.

Do people really care who won the title or who is the best singer. This show had its good days and it is now time to windup this show and move to something else. The American Idol has lost it real meanig and has become a joke. I hope this may not discourage good singers to pursue their dreams. Let us hope it may lead to where is going.

American Idol? American Embarrassment. What a mess. Last time I commented it was about the qualification standards. Now I believe the voting needs to be addressed. Would it make more sense to have the Three Musketeers and the public vote rather than just the public? Of course when the final curtain is lowered this show will become not much more than an advertisers dream! Forget integrity. It is all about the money and the advertising dollars!! And controversary is always good for advertising! Enjoy the simplemindness of this show and then for more fun turn on Dancing With the Stars! more tripe.

Who doesn’t think the whole mess on American Idol is fixed and the Sanjya crap is keeping it on the air just to see if he WILL be eliminated? Don’t think I will ever watch “Idol” next season,,,,if there is one.

Like a lot of other things, this is a popularity contest. Real talent has gone by the wayside.

This is a sign of the Apocalypse. I fear for the safety of my children, petrified that they may become infected with Sanjaytis. God help us all.

As Simon would say, utterly predictable. It?s like Survivor and the people will now be picked off one by one. Haley, San-Ji, Potatoehead, and Chris. There?s a great article on Yahoo?s home page today about the 3 back-up singers on Idol. 3 very talented ladies that are great at backing less than great hopefuls. Good read.

Yes - I was surprised. She was actually a favorite of mine - I thought she had an extra little spark. Haley shouldn’t even have made the top 12, so I was disappointed to see her stay beyond Gina because I enjoy Gina’s performances. I don’t enjoy Haley. Her days are numbered though - her and Phil will probably be the next to go - I just would have preferred to see Gina stay longer.

Sanjaytis really has hit hard. His avoidance of the bottom three is amazing, but no longer surprising. Gina should not have gone before Haley and Phil, I agree. The top 3 was right on, however, my vote continues to support Mr. Beat Box Blake Lewis.

I had decided to keep quiet this season and just read the various American Idol blogs but I can not remain silent any longer. 1st-Kelly, you do a great job keeping us up to date so don’t let the frustrated haters get you down. 2nd-Come on. I am sick of hearing people threaten to quit watching the show because of the voting this year. That is exactly what the Howard Stern’s of the world want. They win unless people realize that it is not the show’s fault. I hope they change the rules next year and give the judges more of a say during this part of the competition but if they don’t it’s still good TV (if you like talent shows). Third-I cannot imagine Sanjiya will win but if he does, so what? It’s not that important. We have a war going on, soldiers dying and people all over the world starving. This is not that important. American Idol is nothing more than an escape for the viewers and a chance at a career for the would be singers. Who gets hurt? Who gets shot? Who is starving? Just enjoy the show for what it is. Entertainment.

I’m shocked. I haven’t voted but a few times this season because I haven’t been impressed by any of them but I liked Gina.

I like Gina, and she had improved, but she wasn’t going to win it all. Haley and Phil can be eliminated before Sanjaya, who clearly is the worst, but if Sanjaya knocks out any of the rest, many people will quit watching the show.
