Bye Bye Chris Sligh on ‘American Idol’

So how did we DDN.com Idol Poll voters do predicting the outcome tonight? Well, we liked Melinda, Blake and Gina the best and Sanjaya by far was the worst. In fact, three times more people voted that he get the boot than even took the time to vote for their favorite AND he stays again tonight.

OK people of Southwest Ohio. Did you call and vote for your favorite? No? Stop that! I challenge each and every one of you to take a couple minutes next week and vote for anyone other than Sanjaya and let our voices be heard!

Bottom three…Phil, Hailey and Chris Sligh.

Gwen Stephani performed with Akon (didn’t know who that was) looking as beautiful as she did last night. This is one pop star who can sing live. Many of them can’t so I was pleasantly surprised. She’s so adorable and after her insightful and honest comments to the Idols this week, I like her even more than I did before. I think it’s so awesome that she did the show.

With heels, she looked down at Ryan and that kind of surprised me because I’ve always thought of her as tiny. Tiny and short. So this must mean Ryan is just really short. : )

Funny thing…I checked DialIdol.com and they have Melinda, Chris Richardson and LaKisha as the top three vote getters. Chris R.? I never would have guessed that. Do you think he’s that good?

Number 4 most votes according to DialIdol? Lord help us all…Sanjaya.

Back to the Idol bottom three…and it’s Phil, Haley and Chris Sligh. If you take Sanjaya out of the equation this is the right bottom three.

Okay, my blue eyes are safe!!! You go Phil. Randy and Paula wouldn’t predict who was going home out of Chris and Haley but Simon says he thought “Bye, bye Curly!” And once again Simon is right and Haley is safe. Chris Sligh is going home.

Chris Sligh is leaving a little earlier than I would have thought but I have no problem with this. The last couple of weeks he just hasn’t brought it. He’s better than Sanjaya though!!!!

Okay Idol fans, please pick up the phone and vote next week and I’ll put myself on the top of that list. No more excuses just because I’m blogging. I’ll vote next week if you will!

O.K. So just because you think Sanjaya is a good role model, you think he should win this Singing contest??? He can’t sing that’s a fact! It’s a singing contest not a role model contest. We are stating the facts.

I loved Chris. I think he could have his own talk show on MTV, E, or VH-1. He’s adorable, witty, humble, and very self-aware.

Adults in springfield behaving like kids. Way to go !! Giving a 17 year old a hard time. There is a word for adults behaving like kids. Its called being a “moron”.

I posted a comment on this blog this morning, but I guess since it was pro-Sanjaya, the DDN won’t bother to post it!

Ok, enough is enough. Sanjaya has got to go!! Yes, I’m one of the guilty ones that didn’t vote. But, you can bet that I will be next week. And you’re right - Chris is better than Sanjaya - but, he hasn’t sounded good to me in weeks - so, I wasn’t sad to see him go!

Sanjaya still hasn’t wiped out anyone who really had a shot at winning. The moment that happens, I am done with the show. (OK, Kelle, I confess: I don’t ever vote.)

Yep - ya gotta vote! I remember weeks last year where I voted for EVERYONE other than Kellie Pickler because I wanted her to go so badly. I couldn’t let someone else be low in votes - so I cast votes for everyone but her. That is what American needs to do if they really want Sanjaya off - but they’ll have to outpace those fast-fingers teenies! Not to mention the vote for the worst/Stern crowd. I really don’t see it mattering all that much at this point - he is in the top ten and on the tour so the only next position that really matters is the #1 spot! As the field narrows and the various fans who are now divided start to narrow in on the ones that are left, then those millions of votes will get more focused and the folks who are trying to skew things won’t matter. I agree - Sanjaya aside - Phil, Haley and Chris were the bottom three for me and Chris just hasn’t brought it here lately. I love him as a personality, but i was okay with him going home. Look for the “Chris Sligh Show” one of these days - ha!

Why don’t you quit bashing Sanjaya and give him a chance? There are many of us in the Dayton area that actually really like his style. It’s really sad that the adult community is coming down so hard on a 17 year old who is doing something other than getting in trouble. I think he’s a good role model for young kids. And vote for someone else? No way! I’ll vote for Sanjaya as many times as possible!
