The twists and turns keep coming.

One of the hallmarks of Project Runway has been its creative challenges with a never predictable air about each episode. Last night (AUG 23), was true to form.

The designers were given the challenge of designing for the everyday woman, whom it turned out, were the designer’s mother or sister. And, just like all of us, the everyday woman came in every size and shape one could imagine making this a unique challenge to say the least. In yet another twist, the designers couldn’t choose their own relative.

An interesting aspect of having family involved in the episode is that were given a chance to learn a little about the background of the designers. We also got to see a protective mother come to the rescue of her obnoxious son Jeffery and a protective daughter, comet to the aid of her mother after Jeffery’s verbal attack. He really should have been sent home right there.

Of course the drama was focused around Jeffery… what a total _(you fill in the blank). His attitude was just awful and his design was even worse. To top it all off, Jeffery designed for Angela’s mother. DRAMA! I knew from the beginning that this would be the episode that Jeffery should go, regardless of whatever he might create. However, in true Bravo TV producer prerogative style, (as stated near the end of every broadcast, as the credits play), Jeffery stays and Robert goes home.

One of the clues that the producers are clearly involved, was when the judges asked the “customer” how they felt about the design, Robert’s customer loved hers and Jeffery’s customer was close to tears, again.

So, now let’s chat about the winner… Uli was robbed! Her design was quite strong with Michael being a close second. As I’ve said before, I’m not an expert. It would seem if this were a horse race, Uli and Michael are running neck and neck to be the winner this season.

Here are a few of the images from the runway challenge:

I’ll find a better photo of Jeffery’s design and post it later.

Anyway, what did you think? Wasn’t the family twist the best?

The producers should take their heads out of their wallets and get rid of Jeffrey before he does any more damage to the show’s image. He is not only disgusting looking, and doesn’t care what anyone thinks, but he is rude and crude and has no place in the scheme of things. You have a terrific show, but I am afraid your audience will dwindle considerably if he is kept on much longer (what a shame that he was chosen the winner of the last project, he all but came out on camera and admitted that he constructed the worst outfit he could for Angela’s mother just to make her look bad. A designer should have the ability to go with the flow and design for any figure or sex while he is in competition. He/she doesn’t have to choose that route when they are actually in business, but for this show that should be essential. He may or may not have the ability, but he chose instead to make both himself and Angela’s mother look ridiculous. Please, please heed my advice and dump the idiot. Let his own mother coddle him she is so proud of what he has become, I should think she would rather be hiding the fact that they are even related!!!!

I thought the Mom twist was a great show. I wanted to kick Jeffery’s butt though. I think he is not only a weirdo, but a rude weirdo! His dress was by for the worst of all.

I think Jeffery’s behavior was uncalled for in this last challenge. I don’t care what all he has been thru in his life, he should still have some manners. As a full figure woman I thought his comments about making an outfit for the Mom was horrible. He made her look like she was homeless. He couldn’t even get it right about where she worked. When he said Salvation Army instead of Red Cross, maybe it was because of the outfit she had on!!I think if for no other reason than his attitude and disregard for anyones feelings he should be gotten rid of. He is nothing but a girly man!! He hasn’t impressed me on the show yet. Grow up Jeffery. I hope he is the next to go so I don’t have to look at him, see his neck, or hear him whine and gripe the whole show again. Come on judges pay attention.

Once again Jeffrey has managed to make an a** of himself. Who cares if he is a recovering alcoholic. He obviously still has anger issues. I’m surprised he’s still here, but again, I think the producers keep people on that make the show intersting, no matter how bad they are. Robert has been quite a bore this season but I was sad to see him go. Kayne needs to get in gear or he’ll be next. Angela’s design this week was terrible and I think she should have been eliminated long ago, but with all the upcoming drama between her and Jeffrey, they’ll probably keep her around. I wish everyone could learn from Michael-he stays cool under pressure and doesn’t get involved in all the egotistical garbage. I’m still hoping he wins it all.

Jeffery has had it in for Angela since her team won the INC challenge. I thought that Jeffery was using this challenge as a means of sticking it to Angela by making a hideous outfit for Angela’s mother.

Jeffrey is showing his true colors. No, not as a slug — we knew that already — in fact, we probably knew it as soon as he was introduced as a friend of last season’s designated creep, Santino. Nope, what we learned about Jeffrey “I was homeless! And a herion addict!” Toughguy is that he has to live completely within the box, fashion-wise. Show him a woman who is not a model, and he’s stumped. Completely devoid of ideas. A coward as well as a cad. But Robert was this week’s human sacrifice, and it is true his last several designs have been oddly frumpy. He makes Barbie look so good! Why does he freeze up in competition? Still, his dress was quite plain, though nicely flowing. Even so, Jeffrey’s was vastly worse. Shame on Kayne! He dressed Michael’s mother in almost exactly the same outfit she walked in with: clamdiggers with a blousy top. He could have done a soft, full pair of gauchos with an asymmetrical neckline and some jewelry — but apparently he froze up in the presence of a real body, just like Jeffrey. And that’s a shame, because Kayne is usually a lot of fun. Ok, producers, PLEASE dump Jeffrey. He’s a lot of drama, and no fun at all. He takes away from the play; we want to see how people dress and not how they stress!
