It’s Now or Never for ‘American Idols’ that sing Elvis
In a season where the American Idol contestants have been mentored by music royalty, how could this week be anything less than the best, creamiest, buttercream icing on the proverbial cake? Elvis week is here.

As enthralled with the scene as the fans, the four final contestants waved and took pictures of the screaming crowd as their sport utility vehicle inched through the famous gate of Graceland. Swapping stories over lunch at Graceland with Priscilla and Lisa Marie Presley had to be the next best thing to hangin’ with the King himself. Exactly where music producer Tommy Mottola fits into this equation I’m not sure, but getting in front of inarguably one of the most powerful men in the music industry had to be a thrill as well.

I’ve been searchin’ the internet for spoilers on the songs for tonight to no avail. However, I know there are many trusty bloggers that can ferret out the most super secret Idol buzz, so hopefully someone will discover it for us sometime during the day.
For weeks the feeling around the virtual water cooler has been Chris Daughtry and Katharine McPhee had the final two locked up. Some of us are in for a big surprise. The internet is buzzing with a Taylor Hicks fan uprising. It’s Now or Never and anything less than perfect performances this week could see any of the final four fall, but Elliot Yamin regrettably is probably the next to go.

Between Chris and Kat—The right one was booted. Kat has the better voice, Chris is just louder.

Kat has the best voice - you cannot judge a person on one week’s performance but must consider all performances. She will appeal to all ages unlike Taylor or Chris.

Taylor is awesome! I don’t think Chris has any voice range.

Vote for Elliott!! Prove them wrong! Simon, Randy, and Nigel Lythgoe, the show’s executive producer, have all been on TV or radio this past week touting Chris & Taylor, and to a smaller degree, Katharine. They have been dissing Elliott, who embodies what this show was originally designed to find: a heretofore unknown with exceptional singing ability who could be molded into a pop star. As much as Pauler needs intervention, to her credit, at least she is not out there denigrating Elliott.

Come on guys! Quit saying Elliott is gone… people are just going to give up on him and let him go. I say we change the odds and all vote for him tonight! If I had my way, even though I love all of the final four, Taylor and Elliott would make it to the final two!

Here are the songs for this week: Elliott Yamin: “Trouble” and “If I Can Dream” Chris Daughtry: “A Little Less Conversation” and “Suspicious Minds” Taylor Hicks: “In the Ghetto” and “Jailhouse Rock” Katherine McPhee: “Hound Dog/All Shook Up” and “Can’t Help Falling in Love”

Kelle, I hate to agree with your last point, but I have no choice. As much as I love Elliott, I don’t think he has a fan base even close to the other three, so a wise odds maker would calculate that he has a 95% probability of leaving us this week. It’s a shame because I think Elliott is an awesome talent, and I’ve enjoyed watching him evolve and become more confident. This has been a great platform for him to get some exposure and I’m sure we’ve not heard the last from the talented Mr. Yamin. As for the other three, it’s truly anyone’s game, I think. From what I heard, Chris is losing fan appeal and Taylor is gaining, with Katherine somewhere in the middle. It will be interesting to say the least. My only regret is that the season is almost over and it will leave me longing for the next crop of fresh young talent looking to make it big. I love American Idol!
