Faith is restored in ‘American Idol’ fans - Bye Bye Chicken Little

Millions of American Idol fans finally got it right! We opened the door for Chicken Little to fly the coop and away he goes. The funny part is that I enjoyed this week’s performance from Kevin Covais more than any other. Regardless, he needed to go. Maybe he’ll get a speech coach, ditch the lisp and pursue a career in music. If that doesn’t work, Paula may hire him for her personal adorable lap dog.

The bottom three were perfect. Kevin Covais, Bucky Covington, and Lisa Tucker and guess what? The amazing, insightful voters on the DDN American Idol poll predicted exactly that. These were exactly the top three we wanted gone with Kevin leading the way and these three also sunk to the bottom three when we voted for our favorites. Bucky and Lisa better choose the perfect songs and perform them well to avoid the bottom three again. Ace, Elliot and Paris better step it up a bit or they may see themselves standing alone in the middle of the stage next week.

Who we wanted off

Paris Bennett 4%

Ace Young 3%

Taylor Hicks 1%

Katharine McPhee 1%

Mandisa 1%

Our Favorites
Chris Daughtry 33%

Mandisa 18%

Katharine McPhee 13%

Taylor Hicks 13%

Kellie Pickler 9%

Ace Young 3%

Elliott Yamin 3%

Kevin Covais 2%

Bucky Covington 1%

877 votes for favorite Idol (760 last week) 705 votes to vote off (612 last week)

Thank you AI fans for voting in our poll. It’s apparent that we mirror what the rest of the world thinks when it comes to our Idols!

WOO HOO! I was so pleased with last night’s results - right on! I was hooping and hollering. The only thing that would have pleased me more would be to see Pickled Brains go. Seriously - do you guys still think this is cute? She has started providing comic relief for me each week at least because she has actually become laughable. I mean - the girl gets flown to Las Vegas to receive a personal arrangement and coaching from a music writing master and when Ryan asks for a highlight - after a long DUUUUUUH pause - the only thing she has to say is that her eyelashes are better? I know, I know - it’s about musical talent - but I can’t be entertained by anyone who is that darn annoying. For some reason I just found her instantly repulsive. I found the show overall to be one of the better ones we’ve seen. Ace is fading - his little bag of tricks is running dry, which is a shame cos I had high hopes. Chris and Mandisa were awesome - I still say they are the ones to beat in this. Everyone else was just kinda “there” this week - entertaining but not wonderful. I think Elliot is wearing thin as well - he has a good voice but I think he is also failing to connect with the audience. And Taylor is still the one I’d pick to be stranded on a desert island with…

Did the Pickle(r) actually ask Simon “Whats a Ballsy” or was I hearing things? Ignorance is no longer cute.

OH, Kelle, Kelle, Kelle - I think you’re thinking of the 20th Century! The 21st Century would be from 2000-2006. LOL

Couldn’t believe that Kevin was finally sent home! I really thought it was time; however, I couldn’t help but feel sad too. I just thought his parents were so cute each week, cheering him on! I’m sure wherever he goes in life, he’ll be successful. He sure has a huge support system.

Karen and Heather, yes I heard Ryan say the same thing. Songs from the 21st Century. What does that mean? That’s a huge period of time to choose from. I wonder if they will have any further criteria than that? And Karen, I love this show too!

Karen - I think I heard Ryan say last night that next week’s theme is music from the 21st Century.

Oh my gosh - it finally happened - America got smart. Let’s see if they can keep it up. The bottom three that I had chosen were exactly what America chose, but I was nonetheless surprised at it. I was afraid that it would end up being Lisa, but was SOOO thrilled that it was Chicken Little. Let’s hope they stay on the right track - but, some of these singers better get with the program and start performing better if they have any hopes of staying in!

Even though I thought this was Kevin’s best performance, I don’t think he’s good enough to be the next American Idol. I did feel sorry for him, but he’s young and I’m sure he’ll get some exposure from all of this and go on to do great things. The bottom three were right on this week. And I agree that Bucky will be the next to go if he doesn’t do something spectacular next week. Lisa has been given ANOTHER chance to pull herself together and break out of the shell she’s in. She’s talented enough, so I’m not sure why she’s not connected with America. It will be interesting to see what the theme is for next week. I can’t wait to watch the behind the show footage on Direct TV’s channel 101. They’ll have the after the show interview with Kevin and his family, along with other stuff. I love this show!

I was happy to see Kevin go, but I kind of felt badly for him! I think Bucky will go next week…at least I hope so!
