Mason football player commits
Mason defensive end Maison Kana has signed a letter of intent to play football at Kentucky Wesleyan College.
Kana was a second team All-GMC selection this past season. He totaled 36.5 tackles, including nine tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.

Lakota West’s Cook chosen for Top 100 Showcase
Lakota West High junior forward Phillip Cook has been selected to participate in the Top 100 Showcase at Capital University on Saturday, April 17.
Cook was selected as one of the top 100 underclassmen in the state of Ohio for this exposure camp. College coaches from around the country are expected to be in attendance.
Cook (6-foot-3, 190 pounds) was a second-team, all-Greater Miami Conference selection this past season after averaging 13.1 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.

Badin’s Coyne commits to UC
Badin High School junior Patrick Coyne has verbally committed to continue his football career at the University of Cincinnati, according to Badin spokesman Dirk Allen.
Coyne, a 6-foot-2, 220-pound quarterback, led the Rams to the Division V state playoffs this season.
Coyne passed for 1,642 yards, nine touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He also rushed for 491 yards and 11 TDs.
He is the Bearcats’ first recruit for the 2011 class, according to rivals.com.
Coyne also had offers from Bowling Green, Buffalo, Illinois, Minnesota, Ohio, Toledo, West Virginia and Wisconsin, rivals.com said.

Lakota West’s Wrencher participates in hoops exposure camp
Lakota West High sophomore center Olivia Wrencher was one of 47 underclassmen who participated in the Ganon Baker Skills Select Nomination Exposure Camp on the campus of Ohio Dominican University this past weekend.
Players from 11 different states and Canada took part in this camp, and Wrencher was one of six players from the class of 2012 highlighted in an ESPN.com article.
Wrencher (6-3) averaged 4.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game this season for the Firebirds.
