Lakota West boys soccer’s defense one of district’s best
Lakota West High’s boys soccer team finished 15-3-2 overall and advanced to the Division I regional finals.
A big reason for that was the Firebirds’ defense.
West allowed seven goals the entire season, which is the fewest goals given up in Lakota district history.
The Firebirds did not yield more than one goal in any game, another Lakota first.
West recorded eight consecutive shutouts, which is tied for fifth in state history. The West girls team recorded nine straight shutouts in ‘01.
Lastly, the Firebirds went a span of 763 minutes between goals allowed, also a new district mark.
