State’s top-ranked team next up for Mason volleyball
Mason High’s girls volleyball team has a tough task ahead of it in its first-ever Division I regional final appearance on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 7.
How tough? How about No. 1-ranked team in the state tough.
Standing in the way of the Comets is the top-ranked and defending state runner-up Ursuline Academy Lions, who are a perfect 26-0 and led by former Lakota East coach Jeni Case.
“We have to play our game,” Mason coach Tiann Keesling said. “We know they’re an outstanding team. We know they’re ranked in the nation, ranked in the state. We all know that. We can only do our best and play our game and hope they have an off night. They haven’t played any tough teams in the last four weeks either, and that’s to our advantage.”
The match starts at 4 p.m. at Vandalia Butler High School.
