Recruiting not a distraction for Lakota West

There’s no question that Lakota West High’s football team has talent that’s caught the attention of college programs around the country.

And it’s not just senior OLB Jordan Hicks.

Guys like TE Alex Smith, OL Kevin Schloemer, CB Brandon Neal, RB Jordan Thompson, DB Mark Fowler, DB Obi Nwankwo, MLB Konnor Blevins, QB John Peters and others have either committed or attracted strong interest.

But to the pleasure of West coach Larry Cox, “They’ve put all the recruiting stuff on hold. They want to keep going,” he said.

So with the Firebirds preparing for their third trip to the playoffs, it hasn’t been a distraction?

“It really, really hasn’t,” Cox said. “I was concerned about that at the beginning of the year. Once again, kids make you look really, really good sometimes.”

again this steven matthews must be on cox’s speed dial - every day there is an article discussing the great virtues of lakota west - i now other schools have kids that college’s are interested in, but i guess matthews is angling for a job at lakota west as sports information assistant or something - check the recent entries on this page; 4 of 9 are about larry cox

But where oh where is the transcript from Jordan Hicks’ weekly conference call???? There are those of us who are not able to function properly in our daily lives without knowing if Jordan is wearing his Spider-Man or his Superman under-roos! Please tell us! jackbo - don’t you know that West (our crap doesn’t stink) Chester is THE single most important area of Butler County, if not the world? Why else would the least little thing about Lakota be posted online EVERY SINGLE DAY? They are so much better than anyone else in the county that the “Hamilton” (what a joke that is) Journal-News must keep the public informed. I mean if I didn’t read about what they are doing there every day I would surely forget how to function as a human being.

Jackbo and Pins and needles: I’ll contact the HJN to put a block on your computer so you don’t have to read about West Chester news. Or, maybe you nimblenuts out there could direct your complaints to the HJN sports dept. that doesn’t take the time to report on all things Hamilton. Not our fault we have news to report that the people of West Chester and the Pulse Journal want to read.
