New colleges recruiting Lakota West’s Thompson

Lakota West High senior RB Jordan Thompson has caught the attention of a couple new schools: South Carolina State and Wofford.

Thompson has 1,573 yards rushing on 245 carries and 19 TDs as the Firebirds prepare for their Division I, Region 4 playoff game at Anderson on Saturday night, Nov. 7.

“I knew I could do very well,” Thompson said. “I didn’t know I could do 1,500 yards. Watching (Sycamore’s) Bud Golden do it last year, that was ridiculous. I thought there was no way anybody else could do it. Now I’m sitting in the same shoes as he was last year.”

give me a break - he’s NAIA at best - didn’t play last year because of his grades - once the season is over and Cox has no reason to have him around his grades will drop back to where they were - what about the big lineman who went to ohio state a few years back - never heard about him once the seaon ended - lakota west didn’t play anyone this year - cox is all about self promotion and he must have this reporter, steve matthews on speed dial

I think the reporter wants to be Jordan Hicks’ personal assistant and jock strap carrier.
