More on Thompson’s big night for Lakota West
As impressive as Jordan Thompson’s performance (37 carries, 302 yards, 2 TDs) was for Lakota West on Friday night, Oct. 30, it still didn’t top the school record books.
Back in 2001, Mike Lovell established a single-game record for yards (327) and carries (51). Lovell also holds the single-season rushing mark with 1,661 yards and 22 TDs.
Thompson, who did not play last season, currently has the single-season record for carries (245), and owns 1,573 rushing yards and 19 TDs.
On Friday night, Thompson also had rushing TDs of 78 and 89 yards, which was one yard shy of tying the school record of 90 yards set by Andrew Cottrell in 2005.
Thompson is the sixth player in Lakota history to eclipse the 300-yard mark in a game.
