Central State, Sinclair to sign partnership

Central State University and Sinclair Community College will collaborate to provide continuous education for students.

Central State and Sinclair on Thursday, April 9, will sign an articulation agreement designed to create a smooth transition for students from Sinclair, a two-year institution, into targeted programs at Central State, a four-year school.

The agreement supports Central State’s “Speed to Scale” initiative, which included the creation of partnerships among local and regional universities.

Students who graduate from Sinclair with an associate’s degree may enroll in a bachelor’s degree program in the respective discipline at Central State. Students must have taken specific Sinclair courses that correlate with Central State’s required courses for the respective bachelor’s degree at Central State.

Students who have completed the course requirements may enter the program during the 2009 Summer term at Central State.

Three agreements will be signed for the Early Childhood Education, Criminal Justice and Environmental Engineering programs.

The partnership signing agreement ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Central State’s Dayton campus, 840 W. Germantown St.

Central State is Ohio’s only public historically black university and has an enrollment of 2,200 students. Its main campus is in Wilberforce, Greene County.

Why??? Are we going to start sending tax dollars from Montgomery County property tax payers to Greene County ? Just like we send RTA buses to Greene County, that are Montgomery County Sales Tax dollars!!!

this is no more than a transfer system, just like Sinclair has with many many other 4 year colleges in ohio. all they’re doing is promising that if you take certain core classes, your credits will transfer to CSU if that’s where you want to go. it has nothing to do with anybody’s tax dollars. and trust me, we don’t want the rta in greene county. just calm down.

Hey Chuck!!!! Don’t be so hard on these liberal bastions of anti-capitalist thought!!! They work hard brain washing our autistically trained offspring!!! They turn them into anti-freedom myrmydons, doublespeak masters, critics of anything not in their package of what they consider “freedom”…and as they do it, they use our money!!! If you don’t agree, they won’t counter with truth or facts backing up their disagreement…they’ll label you “hatefull/mean/devisive/have issues”. They exist on emotion, not critical thought….and there are millions and millions of them out there trained through the years to ensure our downfall. Enjoy the ride.

How do you get all that from a simple transfer system between schools? Transfer systems are a great thing for students that actually want to get a higher education. Just because there are liberal biases in higher education does not mean you have to lose all your free thought. Get over the fact that the university systems are set-up to benefit a liberal mindset. If you are truly an intelligent conservative then you would have no problem working the liberal system to your advantage. Conservatives and liberals alike are given the same education for a reason, but it’s what you do with that education that makes you who you are and believe what you believe. Get back to the issue. It’s a simple transfer system. It’s non-threatening and has nothing to do with your political freedoms or beliefs.

I personaly think that it is a good news to our economic future and investing in students of Ohio. Hello. My wife and I bought our house about 6 months ago. It was a foreclosure and we were able to get a great deal on it. We also took advantage of the 8K tax credit so that definitely helped. We did an extensive remodeling job and now I want to refinance to cut the term to a 20 or 15 year loan. Does anyone know any good sites for mortgage information? Thanks! Mike

Hello and thanks for taking the time to read my post. First off i did search the forums and was unable to find anything about the specific problem that I am having. I recently found this site while searching for help with putting anime series onto dvd for viewing in a standalone dvd player, and was pleasantly surprised with the amount of information that I found here. After a couple hours of lurking the forums and reading what others have posted I purchased ConvertXtoDVD to use along with my copy of Nero to put the anime series that I have onto dvd with some simple menu’s since it seems to be one of the most suggested pieces of software on the site. So far I am been mostly happy with the features and the ease of use that this software provides, but I am having one specific issue. I am burning my 1st series to disk and am putting 8 episodes per disk, on the menu I am telling it show small thumbnail previews and it is doing this quit nicely. The main problem that I am running into is when I actually put the disk into a dvd player, the menu is loading and working correctly, but the issue is when I start an episode I am getting small pauses in the video in the opening on every single episode at the exact same spots. After the opening the video seems to be fine and the pausing stops. The only thing that I can think that would be causing this is the fact that I am having the thumbnails start about 1min30sec into each episode which is after the opening, so that each episode looks different in the thumbnails, which is also pretty much the exact same spot that the pausing stops on each episode. I know this is kinda long and am sorry for that, but it is kinda a specific problem and see’ing as there are alot of guru’s here I figured this site would be the place to ask. I have an AVI video file where, right at the very beginning, my audio is distorted for a second or two. It’s just the soundtrack, so I’d like to re-encode the video, if possible, by just having a few seconds of that audio fade in , thereby avoiding the way it is now, which makes you jump out of your chair! I have both AVIDemux and Virtaldub but could not figure out how to do it on those. Is there a way on those programs or another program to do this? all downloaded avi movies that i convert to dvds come out blank, even though software says completed successfully. i put avi movie in dvd flick to change to dvd files. i tried it 2 ways: changed to video ts files, then put in dvd shrink to make iso file then burned in image burn to verbatim dvd-r disk. blank. then tried having dvd flick change directly to iso file to burn in image burn afterward. blank. the files are on my pc with the right amount of gigabytes, but on the final disk, nothing-0 gb. have done this with different movies. all other movies burn, just can’t burn those that are downloaded avi files. i have never been able to burn an avi to a dvd disk. my burner is fine. must be an issue with the conversion of avi to dvd. help please.
