Blackwell’s book released; Dems lash out
Ken Blackwell’s new book, “Resurgent: How Constitutional Conservatism Can Save America” has been released and Democrats already are acting like Blackwell is the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in 2012.
The GOP nominee will take on first-term Democratic U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown.
In the book, released Tuesday, Blackwell - the 2006 GOP candidate for governor and former secretary of state and treasurer - and co-author Ken Klukowski prescribe a recipe that “can return our nation to prosperity,” according to a press release.
“In the post-Reagan era, the challenge for conservatism remains how to forge a fusion of the three essential aspects of conservative thought,” the authors write. They describe how ECons (economic conservatives), SoCons(social conservatives) and SafeCons(national security conservatives) need each other.
“To be pro-traditional marriage, pro-values and pro-life is to be pro-business, pro-wealth creation and pro-freedom,” they write.
Justin Barasky, spokesman for the Ohio Democratic Party, panned the book and Blackwell.
“This is a person who doesn’t believe in the right to collectively bargain, wants to end Medicare, thinks moderates on the Supreme Court are a ‘mistake’ and wants to see the Republican Party become far more conservative,” Barasky said in a press release.
Blackwell told the Dayton Daily News last week that he would announce his possible plans for a U.S. Senate race after the book launch, but sounded like he was seriously considering the race. He has been leading other candidates for the GOP nomination in public opinion polls.
State Treasurer Josh Mandel and former state Sen. Kevin Coughlin, R-Cuyahoga Falls, both have formed committees to permit them to raise money for a Senate race although neither has formally declared his candidacy.

Oh my values!!! How horrible!! Common knowledge Democrats have no values! Democrats have no respect for family! Democrats do everything they can do to destroy the family to make the serfs loyal to Democrats. You call the republicans taliban because they protect the unborn and you call they taking away your freedoms. Then you state proudly how you want to take away freedom of speech from anyone that disagrees with you. Anyone that disagrees with you you claim spouts hate. Democrats - ban circumcision. Democrats with keep your nose out of my uterus, but hey we will tell you want to do with that skin. Democrats want to control what you eat and are now going after over weight people. Democrats are all about telling people how to live for their own good. Take off your democrat propaganda and look to see reality. There are idiots in both parties that have been destroying our individuality and our person liberties for a long long time. We will never get our liberties back as long as you idiots keep playing party politics.

Mr. Green, you are probably a very decent person, but you are sorely wrong about the current situation we have here in America and around the world. These are the most dangerous times for our country since the civil war. Ignoring the signs and actions of this administration is not going to heal our nation. Our economy is now driving our fast track to the end of capitalism and our Republic. Behind the scenes, left wing radicals have worked feverishly to quickly get their agenda of socialist oppression accomplished…in the dark…they have worked for years to accomplish this. Bill Ayers (advisor to Obama where he started his political career) laid out a plan to eliminate 25 million Americans who refused to be reeducated. These people not only exist, but are active in our government right now as you are contemplating if we are unfairly grouping people as radicals. They exist, they are a real threat to our nations security, and they are actively working to overturn our government. The unions are working with left wing radicals and the Radical Islams with the help of George Soros (who has already manipulated, profited and brought down other countries’ economies). Code Pink is one of those organizations that George Soros has funded (along with buying our media—google search it if you don’t believe me). There will be a 2nd flotilla at the first part in June that will rush Israel borders from all sides hoping to provoke Israel, who will defend her borders. This will then set in to motion the UN’s R2P (Responsibility to Protect) order (written by Cass Sustein-regulatory czar-his wife) which was used by Obama to bomb Libya (without required Congressional approval). While Obama disses our laws, you will need to decide which side you are on. Our Republic or the “CHANGE” that Obama has in store for us. Think about it again, Mr. Green.

It’s like throwing pearls to swine. Meaning of “Incantation”: a ritual recitation of words or sounds believed to have a magical effect…I guess you didn’t know what incantation means because you used the word improperly. There are no magic and no spells. But there are lots of signs. I think the rat running across the podium while Obama spoke might be a sign, who knows. His actions speak louder than words. Chicago thug lawyer, both his parents (anti colonial Marxist idealists) leave Obama at an early age, Obama surrounds himself with black panthers, radical left wingers, trouble makers growing up, works as lawyer for ACORN (caught on video commiting fraud with taxpayers money involving pimps and prostitutes), lies his way into presidential office portraying himself as a “centrist” and then passes a hc bill that takes over 1/6th of our economy along with nationalizing student loans, car companies, banks, energy, trying to pass restrictive gun laws, restrictive free speech laws including media, internet, tv, and radio, etc. Attacks AZ siding with Mexican president, attacks states, engages in 3rd WAR (with our military on the ground in Libya), what’s next? Attacking Israel? This “man” from Hawaii is the worst president in modern mankind, even surpassing Carter. Gas prices up, stockmarkets down, double dip recession…by the time the election comes around Daffy Duck could get elected for president over Obama (unless Obama’s ACORN cohorts fix this election, too).

Ha Ha Ha, Mr. Mark, you said it well! Obama was a community organizer in Chicago. If all of the truth were known. If we let Obama organize us any more we will be organized into less freedom for the individual, our money will be society’s money. Less individualism. So I am for voting OBama back to Kenya, excuse me, Hawaii! I do support Boehner, Portman and Kasich.

I am very pleased that we have John Boehner, Portman and Kasich out there looking to bring things back in order. I hope that Obama’s dirty work healthcare bill can be defunded and his unethical work to censor us through the FCC can be stopped. The public does not know or has forgotten that Obama actually worked for Acorn. One of the most corrupt organizations that took government money and built a house for prostitution! Acorn did some underhanded work in supporting democrats during elections as well. Chicago should have monitors in 2012 watching them during elections.

TO: By Originalthought(really?)—When you stand before God Almighty on Judgement Day and He asks you why you didn’t accept the blood Jesus, His Only Son, sacrificed for your sins, you can tell Him that you were too busy making fun of Him. Are you naive or ignorant enough to believe the violence of the Taliban is comparable to prayer in church buildings? Seriously, where do you get this crap? You guys behead and stone people when they don’t agree with your religious beliefs. Go ahead and walk into one of our churches and see if people don’t come up to you and try to shake you hand and welcome you or pray with you. You need psychological help and prayer. You have been indoctrinated from your youth to hate that which you don’t understand.

Whether I care for Blackwell is another story. I believe being conservative, down to our roots, pro-American, Christian all provide the basis for a solid individual. I have no regard for Islamists, I am not happy with the OBama Administration for pushing the Fairness Doctrine- a doctrine that provides censorship over our freedom of speech. I want our country out from under OBama.—

“Republicans believe in personal freedoms, EXCEPT when they are legislating their own moral values upon others.” You mean like Obama did when he said “It’s not about religion, it’s about the law” when he used that as an excuse to make all tax payers pay for stem cell research even if it was against their religious beliefs or the hc bill that he passed that makes all of us pay for abortions which is against our religious beliefs. You mentioned raping the planet of resources, do you mean like Obama going on his (how many?) vacations around the world flying on our dime? You seriously need to get your head out of your but. (Yeah, I know I misspelled it!)

Republicans believe in personal freedoms, EXCEPT when they are legislating their own moral values upon others. Then they truly are oppressors. They are trying to rape the planet and take all of our rights and freedoms away, except for guns, of course.

A book review? Not a chance, another biased DDN article that we come to expect from our predictable hometown liberal rag. Hershey, its doubtful you read the book. Of course, why would you, when you know you were instructed to write a slanted article designed for the average fifth grader. Panned by a spokesman for the democratic party. DUH! The DDN should start selling their paper in rolls, I least then there would be a use for it.

We’ve already seen the democratic plan of “spend your way out of a recession” doesn’t work. There’s not even a thumb print left from the stimulus, and all of the temporary government jobs are gone now, with unemployment even higher than when Obama took office. This means we need another plan. Republicans have shown their cards, and Democrats continue to divert attention to the next chaotic catastrophe instead of addressing the issues. We have to cut back somewhere. Sen Brown is a carbon copy of Obama, so again, I would vote for Alfred E. Newman over Obama, and Ken Blackwell is a viable candidate. And if you don’t vote for Blackwell, you are a racist (just kidding here…but that does seem to be the tactics used by the Democrats so I just thought I’d throw that in there!).

If Blackwell does decide to run, please don’t listen to consultants that try to hide your party affiliations and Conservative beliefs when reaching out to Independents…believe me that you could have won just about any office last November and hope the rest of the Republicans learned something from that.

In Ohio’s never ending race to the bottom (See Kasich, John) the GOP now produces Ken Blackwell. If this guy is your senator in 2012 you might as well just give up on the Buckeye state. Kasich + Portman + Boehner + Blackwell = You’re screwed …
