Strickland portrait to be unveiled
The official portrait of Ted Strickland will be unveiled in a private ceremony at the Ohio Statehouse on June 7 with the former governor, his wife Frances, portrait artist Leslie Adams of Toledo, former U.S. Sen. John Glenn, Ohio Supreme Court Justice Yvette McGee Brown, and Strickland’s long-time aide John Haseley.
The portrait is paid for with private funds and will hang in the Ohio Statehouse.
Early in Ohio’s statehood, gubernatorial portraits were painted in a hit or miss fashion and amounted to a hodge-podge collection, according to OhioStatehouse.org. In 1867, Gov. Rutherford B. Hayes decided the new Capitol building needed a complete collection of governor portraits to mark Ohio history and its leaders. Hayes led the charge to complete the portrait collection.

Frank, has it occurred to you that Obama haters don’t dislike him because of his race, but his politics? Did it occur to you that Obama appears to be narcissistic by the way he goes to play golf 1 day after Japan is hit with a 9.0 earthquake followed by Tsunami? Or the way he flies off for an around the world vacation when he just declared that Israel should give up her borders that she fought for back in ‘67? Or that maybe it is the way he sits on oil drilling permits here in the states while the oil drillers leave here and go to other countries for drilling there (and take those jobs with them)? Or how he took BILLIONS of U.S. dollars and gave them to Brazil for jobs/oil drilling there? Or how he took our tax dollars and built an auto plant in Mexico for jobs there? Or how he sent manufacturing jobs from our stimulus $ and sent jobs to China? Or how he added 4 trillion to out debt when it was 10 trillion, and then doesn’t present a serious plan to reduce the deficit? Or how he passed a hc bill that disses a majority of Americans who don’t believe in abortion and makes them pay for abortions under that plan? Or how he called the Republican his “enemies”? Or how he called Tea Party members radicals and extremists? Or how he bows to our enemies, showing America as a weak country? Or how he went around the world on our dime apologizing for America? Or how he is in bed with the Unions who have been found to be corrupt and planning economical sabotage (S. Lerner/NY Meeting with F. Pivon)? Or how he was a lawyer for ACORN and then said (I think it was a lie) that he didn’t know what they were about when they were found to be committing fraud with tax payer dollars to set up loans for pimps/prostitutes? Or how ACORN was found guilty on trying to fix the election by presenting fake voter registrations? I could go on, but my fingers hurt from typing…

To all you President Obama haters, I would have more respect for you if you’d just say you are a racist up front. This is an article about the former Governor, but you always manage to try and bash the President at every opportunity. No wonder they turned the comments off in Springfield. Get a life already.

I think the President is so involved with himself that he is not even dignified enough to learn and act with proper protocol, regarding the mishap with the Queen. I want him out of the White House for 2012. Perhaps he would like to join Strickland.

I wonder if the expression on Strickland’s face in the portrait is anything like Obama’s when he finally realized he was rambling on with his stupid Toast when the Queen and guests were at attention for the national anthem? Obama is a mess and so was Strickland.
