Rev. Jesse Jackson to appear at Columbus rally Wednesday
The Rev. Jesse Jackson is scheduled to be in Columbus on Wednesday for a “Rally for All Workers, Our Schools and Our Community.”
Jackson is expected to speak out against Senate Bill 5, legislation prohibiting collective bargaining for state employees and limiting bargaining for teachers and local government workers, said Brian Rothenberg, executive director of ProgressOhio, one of the groups organizing the rally.
The rally is set for 11 a.m. at the Teamsters building, 555 E. Rich St., in Columbus, a press release said.
Faith leaders, elected officials and union and community leaders are expected to join Jackson.
